Chapter Twelve

College of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Law, at College of Education and Human Development ang mga contestants na nakasali sa finalists for girls. Halos same lang sa boys bukod sa hindi nakasali ang CEH at CAS sa finalists nila. Hindi parin ako makapaniwala na isa ako sa mga ito, pero ni-ready ko ang aking sarili para sa mga tanong na maaari kong mabunot.

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag pagkatapos tanungin ang contestants na nauna sa akin, hindi naman pala ganoon kahirap ang mga tanong. Mostly ay about sa inspirations mo or di kaya mga weakness mo.

When it's already my turn, I walked confidently sa gitna ng mga hosts. It took them minutes bago makapagsalita sa mic dahil sa lakas ng hiyawan, it's probably my co-department dahil marami rin kaming COB.

"Mukhang si contestant number 7 ang may pinaka maraming fans, ah." natatawang sabi nung babaeng host na inilingan ko lang.

Saglit pa nila akong ininterview bago ako pinbunot ng tanong sa fish bowl.

"For your question... What is your greatest accomplishment in life?" the guy host read from the small piece of paper.

"Thank you for that question po. I know some of you already know this but, I grew up with a happy family and loving parents po, they are the best and there is nothing I could wish for more. Kaya lumaki rin ako with a goal to make them happy, proud, and contented. I am an achiever since elementary, some would ask me if pinepressure ko ba ang sarili ko, and my answer is I'm not." my smile widen nang makita ko ang parents ko together with my Kuya sa first row ng audiences, Kuya and Dad are smiling at me while my Mom is tearing up. She's really emotional, cute.

"Because I love doing this, I love making my parents proud. And to answer your question, my biggest accomplishment in life is I never failed to make my parents proud and happy. That's all po, thank you."

I almost teared up when I came back to my position, ito siguro ang isa sa mga namana ko kay Mom, we're both a crybaby.

The pageant ended and I didn't expect to win, the other contestants did really well kaya I believe that we are all deserving na manalo. Bukod sa Ms. DLSU 2020, nanalo rin ako ng best rampwalk, best evening gown, at best costume. Although, 3rd runner up lang ang partner kong si Ethan. Pero hakot awards naman siya dahil siya ang nanalo sa most photogenic, best swim wear, at best rampwalk. 

"Cassie, congrats!" my friends engulfed me with a hug when the pageant ended, nasa backstage kami ngayon and inaayos na ang stage for the live bands.

"Thank you, guys. I won because of your encouragements." nakangusong sabi ko habang tinitignan silang lahat.

"Sus, baka dahil 'yon sa necklace na suot mo." pang-aasar ni Kim, tinawanan ko lang siya at pabirong hinampas. Speaking of, hindi ko parin siya nakikita. Hindi ba talaga siya nanood?

"My beautiful daughter," I smiled when I saw my parents and Kuya, they are all smiling while walking towards us.
