i woke up to the blaring noise of my alarm and rolled over to turn it off. i felt elaina shuffle in her sleep then snuggle up to me. let's just say, last night was the best night's sleep i've had in months.

"c'mon baby, we have to get up to go to your doctor's appointment. i finally get to go to one of these and i'm excited." i said, sitting up.

she gripped my chest and pulled me back down, not wanting me to get up.

"i want to go back to sleep. i actually slept good last night," she mumbled, hugging my body.

i laughed and unwrapped her arms, standing up from the bed. she groaned and got up, going over to the closet to get ready, and i went to one of the suitcases in the corner of the bedroom.

i pulled out a red shirt and some black jeans and did my hair in the mirror. elaina came out in one of my hoodies and some black leggings.

"gosh woman. how many hoodies have you stolen from me? i swear i've lost about 75% of my hoodies." i laughed and she shrugged, brushing her hair and putting it in a bun.

"can we go to mcdonald's for breakfast?" she asked. "christina has made pancakes every morning and i'm getting so sick and tired of it."

"sure, baby." i replied, and we headed out to my car in which i had brought here from the apartment parking garage yesterday before i came here. we would be staying back at our apartment, but corbyn wanted us to stay with christina until they came back tomorrow.

we sang along to the radio all the way to mcdonald's, and when we got there, she ate her food like it was the most precious thing in the world. she said all they ever eat is buttered noodles and pancakes because that's all either of them can make and she's getting kind of tired of it.

once we were done eating, we got back in the car and we drove to the hospital.

we walked into the hospital and got her signed in, and we waited in the waiting room for her nurse, aurora, to come take her to the back room.

"you nervous?" i asked her, because her leg was bouncing up and down in anticipation.

"i'm not nervous, i'm excited." she replied, grinning a large smile.

we sat there waiting for a good twenty minutes until the nurse called out her name.

we walked up to her and she said, "ah, daniel. elaina said you wouldn't be able to make it here today."

"i came back early to surprise her, but i have to leave again in a few weeks to start the european portion of the tour." i explained to aurora. she nodded and took us back to the room.

elaina laid down and got settled, as aurora put the cold gel on her stomach. i saw her wince the slightest bit at the temperature change, but then her face went straight again.

aurora rubbed the gel in with the tool and angled it so she could see the babies. i smiled widely as i looked at the two figures on the screen of the monitor.

"hey daniel, can you tell what this one is?" she asked me showing me one of the babies.

i studied it for a second then realized it was a boy.

"it's a boy." i said, and aurora nodded.

"you know what that means!" elaina said excitedly.

"freaking zachary robert is happening," i mumbled.

"what?" aurora asked.

"zachary robert. it's what she wanted to name one of them if at least one of them was a boy." i explained to her.

"it looks like the other one is a girl." the nurse said and i smiled.

"that's elizabeth marie." i smiled widely, and so did elaina.

"so are the babies named after anyone?" she asked me.

"uh, zachary robert is named after my two idiotic bandmates, zach and jack. elizabeth marie is named after two of her best friends, ellery and you know christina." i explained to her and she nodded.

"we're keeping the names a secret." elaina blurted out, and i have her a confused look.

"we are?" i asked.

"yeah."

"i can't do that, though. you know if there's something big like that i'm going to blurt it out." i whined, and elaina shook her head.

"fine. we can tell everyone tomorrow." she sighed. "we'll tell them tomorrow when the rest of the boys get here."

i smiled at her and sent her a playful wink, causing her cheeks to flush red, making my cheeks to turn red as well.

"while you guys were sitting there having your little conversation, i cleaned up elaina and you guys are ready to go." aurora said, so elaina pulled her hoodie down and we left the hospital, feeling happy and content with our lives.

i am so incredibly happy.
