[E L A I N A  H O P E]

"hey emma, i have to be quiet. daniel is still sleeping," i whispered, looking at emma through the phone screen because she facetimed me that morning.

"whatever," she said, "so i heard you and daniel got engaged and got a house together." she wiggled her eyebrows at me, and i looked at her in confusion. how did she know? no one except the boys, christina, and ellery knew that we got a house together and got engaged.

"wait, how did you know that?" i asked her quietly, furrowing my eyebrows.

"oh, ramen fills me in on all of the juicy stuff," she shrugged, "and i want to come over and see your new house."

"first of all, i need to talk to jack about that. second of all, you can come over later. i'll send you the address," i whispered, looking at daniel who was still asleep in bed next to me.

"aww, you're trying not to wake up your fiance, how cute," she cooed, "DANIEL WAKE THE FUCK UP!"

i glared at her and looked at daniel, who started shifting around in bed and rubbing his eyes. his eyelids fluttered open and he looked at me, smiling.

"sorry about that. emma decided to yell," i told him sheepishly, turning my phone around so he could see emma sitting on the other side of the small screen.

"i needed to get up anyways. i have a meeting with david and the boys in, like, an hour," he said, his voice groggy and raspy.

"hey emma, i'll talk to you later," i said quickly, ending the call and putting my phone on the nightstand then turning back to daniel, "you just got off of tour. why do you have to go to a meeting?" i whined, scooting up to him and wrapping my arm around his bare chest while putting my head in the crook of his neck.

"i don't know. david said he wanted to talk to us all about something before we all left to go home," he explained, kissing my forehead.

"okay, but be home soon," i told him, unwrapping my arm from around him so he could get up, take a shower, and change out of his sweatpants, "and emma is coming over later so don't be surprised if i'm not here or if you come home to find a seventeen year old yelling in your house."

"okay, well if you go somewhere, be safe. i should be home at around four or five o'clock," he informed me, grabbing a towel and going into the bathroom to take a shower.

i laid back down in bed and fell back asleep since it was only eight o'clock in the morning. i woke up to daniel kissing my forehead and telling me he'd be back later.

after he left, i sat up in bed and texted emma the address to the new house, then went downstairs to the kitchen to make myself some eggo waffles. after the waffles being in the toaster for a few moments, they popped out so i put them onto a paper plate and started eating them.

emma texted me that she was almost here, so i unlocked the front door and told her to just come inside when she arrived. within two minutes, a hyper teenager sprang through the front door, yelling something about raw chicken nuggets.

"gosh kid, calm down," i told her calmly, taking a bite out of my mini waffle.

"MOM LET ME DRINK COFFEE THIS MORNING AND IT TASTED REALLY GOOD SO I HAD TWO CUPS OF IT!" she yelled, running into the kitchen.

"and maybe you need some sleep medication now," i mumbled, rolling my eyes and taking a sip of my water. 

"shhhhh, i'll be calm now," she laughed, sitting down at one of the bar stools, "so give me a house tour."

i motioned for her to follow me, so she did. i showed her all around the house, including the nursery, which she found absolutely adorable. i'm glad daniel had ellery help him with it because when we were younger, ellery and i would always talk about our future plans and stuff. the nursery of our future children happened to be one of the topics that we used to talk about, so she knew exactly how i wanted the room to look like. 

"nice house," she complimented, once the tour was over.

"you should be saying that to daniel. he's the once that put all of this together. he kept it from me for over two months," i laughed, plopping down onto the couch in the living room.

"you got yourself one hell of a good man," emma chuckled, sitting down on the other side of the couch.

we turned on netflix and watched 'the 100' for a couple of hours, until i got a text from daniel.

dani boi 🐍💞: hey baby, i'm really sorry but david is being a bitch and making us have a couple more meetings than planned. i'll be home at around ten o'clock. sorry babe, i love you and i'll be home later.

i luv gay snailz 🐌: it's okay, daniel. i love you and i'll see you later.

i sighed before shutting off my phone. that got emma's attention and she looked over at me, "what's wrong?"

"oh, nothing. daniel just has a few extra meetings and he won't be here until late tonight," i explained, "but on the bright side, we have some more quality family time together."

"oh, you know what you should do?" she asked.

"what?"

"you should invite christina over since she lives next door. i want to meet her," she suggested.

"i can't. christina is in long island for christmas," i explained to her.

"oh well, unpause the tv. i want to see what happens next," emma demanded, so i turned the tv back on and we continued watching the show until we both passed out on the couch that night.

i quietly opened the front door, trying to make the least amount of noise as possible so i wouldn't wake elaina up, just in case she was asleep. as i was walking towards the kitchen, i saw both elaina and emma asleep on the couch while the tv was on and playing some netflix tv show.

i smiled to myself before going over, turning off the tv, putting a blanket on top of emma, and picking up elaina to take to our bedroom. i went into the closet and pulled off my shirt and pants, putting on some sweats. then i went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. as i started putting toothpaste on my toothbrush, i heard, "daniel, is that you?"

i looked out of the bathroom and saw elaina sitting up in bed with rubbing her eyes, confused.

"shh, baby go back to sleep. i'll be there in a few minutes," i whispered, so she laid back down and went back to sleep.

how was i going to tell her that the reason we were having meetings today was that we were going back on tour soon? we're going on a small tour in late may to promote the big one we're going to have starting next october. none of the boys really agreed to it, but david said we need more promotion for the next tour. we're only going to five places: kansas city, las vegas, new york city, orlando, and houston. since all of those cities are a pretty good distance apart, we're not taking a bus and we're just going to fly to all of those places.

i just pushed all of my thoughts away and finished brushing my teeth, putting my toothbrush away and laying down in bed next to elaina. instinctively, elaina cuddled up to me and i wrapped my arm around her, quickly falling asleep with the love of my life in my grip.
