(This is a short clip from my story)

"So you're one year older than me?" I asked Kayden. He nodded. "That's not too bad right?" He asked, looking down at my lips. "No," I replied slowly, dragging out the "o". "So it's completely fine I do this?" He asked. His lips met mine gently. My eyes widened. He kissed me and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek as our breaths mingled. I could feel the quick beating of his heart against my chest. The kiss was sweet, unexpectedly and gloriously sweet. I could have died; right then and there, my dreams, my wishes, and all my greatest goals in life had either vanished into thin air or been answered and achieved. I wanted a chance with love, and now I had it. A deep warmth spread through my body, all the aches and pains of heartbreak broken and dissolved by this tender moment. A silent tear slid down my face, marring the perfection of the moment as it splashed onto his own face. Kayden pulled away, "What's wrong Savannah?" his question was soft to my ears and I barely dared to lift my face to look at him. "Kayden," I choked out. "I can't...I can't do this right now." My heart pounded unevenly in my chest, like a bird in a cage of sorrow. His face fell, sadness etched on his features. "What do you mean Savannah? I thought-" I hesitantly looked up at him. The swirls of emotion I saw there made me gasp. Lust and desire. "I just had to do that, even if it is only once." Kayden stated. The look on my face told him everything. I was broken. Grief-stricken. He didn't know, I never told him what happened.
