I could still remember when the breaks screeched on the pavement. His warning telling me to watch out was enough for him to take the pain.
He fell into my arms. His red blood pooling around me.
I spotted him before he meant to shot me. His intention was always to get rid of me and Julian knew it.
The ambulance came fast as I expected. Dante's chest going up and down, he tighten his grip on my hand.
I didn't even know when I started crying until he wiped the tears off. He tried to talk but I silenced him. I watched the movies and knew that they shouldn't talk when having a bullet wound.
"It's going to be alright," I whisper to him, running my hand through his damp hair. "Dante calm down. It's going to be alright."
Man I sucked at soothing people and Dante knew it.
Soledad came running outside just in time when the ambulance was taking Dante away.
Sam kept pinning Soledad back, preventing her from seeing Dante.
"Ari! Please!" She sobbed. "Take care of him."
"I will. Let's go people! Or I'll sue all of you!"
I looked back at Dante and kissed him lightly. Letting me at least feel some of his pain. But I couldn't, this world wasn't made of Shakespeare's the tempest or space wars.
This world was filled with pain and blood.
It stained red.
