2D paced back and forth, unsure of whether or not this was the right decision. Granted, there was the possibility he could just be paranoid. Murdoc would never reject him; he'd proven that by letting not one, but two songs the singer had written onto the new album - Andromeda and Busted and Blue. Nevertheless, he still worried. What if Murdoc said no? He'd have to butter him up before asking. Speaking of which, Murdoc came strutting into the kitchen, and 2D smiled at him. The bassist in question raised a brow, both concerned and confused at the sudden light mood presentedby 2D. The singer's cheeks began to hurt, so he stopped smiling. He rubbed his face, loosening the muscles before putting the grin back on his face, the corners of his mouth turning up only slightly this time.

"Why are you smiling? It's weird," Murdoc stated, running some water into a glass and taking a drink. "No reason. I'm just in a good mood," 2D replied, sitting at the table. "Well stop," the bassist said, sitting down across from the bluenette with his glass of water and taking another drink. 2D frowned, resting his arms on the table. His phone vibrated in his pocket, so he pulled it out and unlocked it. Of course it was a text from Noodle, asking if there'd been any progress.

'Not yet', he replied, and placed the phone on the table, the case with his own face facing up. He'd gotten it off of a website and quite liked that it was his own face and not Murdoc's or something. That would have seemed a bit weird, though he wouldn't mind having a case with Murdoc's face on it.

There was silence for a few minutes until Murdoc had decided that he wanted to leave, and 2D didn't stop him. He'd have to wait until he saw Murdoc again before asking the question he wanted. The bassist walked out the door and 2D watched as he got in the car and drove off.

He walked to his room and sat at his desk, phone still in hand, and waited. Then he shook his head after about an hour. "I feel like this is gonna be a horrible idea," he stated, standing up, only to lie down on his bed and stare at the ceiling. "He'll never agree to dating me. He already doesn't like me." 2D huffed, crossing his arms. "But what if he does?" he wondered to himself and began playing with his hair, separating and twisting each part that had decided to stay together no matter what he did.

He stood up and walked back to the living room, sitting on the sofa and humming to himself. The door opened, exciting the singer, but he frowned when he realized that it was just Noodle. "Damnit," he said, and went back to humming. "What's up?" Noodle asked and 2D shrugged, continuing to hum to himself. "Let me guess, you were hoping for Murdoc to be home, but instead it was me, therefore you're disappointed?"

2D nodded and lied down, putting his feet up. He was more than just disappointed - no, he was upset. He'd hoped Murdoc would return so he could confess feelings he'd had for two years. Two years was a long time to go without saying anything. It made the blue-haired singer nauseous.

In fact, he felt like he was going to be sick, so he ran to the bathroom and knelt over the toilet, gagging. Nothing came up, so he returned to the living room and lied back down. "I'm crazy; he's never gonna say yes," the singer said to nobody in particular, yet he heard a sigh. "You're too paranoid, 'D. Even if he says no - and he won't - you'll at least have asked."

2D nodded before groaning and turning so his face was buried in the cushion. "Heed my words, 2D. You'll realize that he couldn't possibly say no to this," Noodle said before the sound of her footsteps began to fade until they disappeared altogether.

The bluenette sighed; maybe she was right. Maybe Murdoc wasn't so heartless that he couldn't accept a confession of love. Or maybe, Noodle was wrong. That was always a possibility, even though he knew she hadn't ever been wrong about anything. Not even when he'd drunkenly confessed his attraction towards the bassist and wondered if it was worth it, all whilst sobbing. Noodle had reassured him, saying that he felt like that for a reason.

When he heard the door open and slam shut, 2D flinched and moved his head so he could look up. He watched as Murdoc walked in, so he pretended to be asleep. Murdoc sat on the arm of the sofa near 2D's feet and sighed, gnawing on his thumbnail. 2D didn't know what to do, so he still pretended to sleep.

"I know you're awake. I'm not an idiot," Murdoc said and 2D turned over, letting his gaze fall on the bassist. "I don't know what I did to make you hate me- wait, I actually do, and I'm sorry," the Satanist said, and the singer was surprised at how genuine it sounded. He just hoped that it wasn't a trick.

2D sighed. "I've never loved anyone," he said and covered his mouth in horror. That was both a confession and a lie. "I mean- uh, since Paula cheated on me." His face was red since again, that was another lie. He felt like he couldn't say the right thing without fucking up.

"I uh- how do you feel about... pickles?" 2D said, and Murdoc raised his brow in concern. "They're not really that good," Murdoc said and Stuart facepalmed. "I meant, uh, blue things. The colour blue. What's your opinion on the colour blue?" he said, laughing halfheartedly.

"Blue is a nice colour."

2D groaned and sat up, covering his face with was still very pink. "I- don't like being single," he blurted, then his his face in his knees. This was going the opposite of how he'd planned it. "So go out and find some chicks," Murdoc said and Stuart furrowed his brows. "I'm uh... I'm not straight."

He began to gnaw at his bottom lip nervously, causing Murdoc to reach over and tap his forehead. "Stop that."

Stuart felt like he was going to burst if he didn't say something soon. "Murdoc, I don't want to go out, not because I'm gay... but because I-"

No words came out, and instead his brain became blank. He'd been ready to confess, but his brain would not allow him to.

Suddenly his phone buzzed, and before he could get to it, Murdoc picked the device up. "What progress is Noodle talking about?" the bassist asked and 2D's face became impossibly redder. Murdoc began to input the password and tapped on messages.

2D watched as Murdoc's eyes widened up on scrolling and before he could see a reaction, Stuart grabbed his phone and ran out of the room and into the bathroom. His phone immediately buzzed with a text from Murdoc.

'You should have said something sooner. Please open the door.'

2D wanted to keep the door closed, fearing that something bad might happen. He sent a text back - 'please don't hit me' - and twisted the handle before pulling the door open. Immediately he was engulfed in a tight hug. "I didn't know what to say..." he mumbled, wrapping his own arms around Murdoc. "And I was trying to soften you up so you didn't reject me, but you know how I am and I couldn't speak and... you know, my brain wouldn't let me say it."

Murdoc removed his arms and placed his hands on 2D's shoulder. "Since you showed up here, I haven't been able to say no to you. It's both a curse and a 'blessing'," he stated and resumed hugging the singer.

"Also, do you realize how long I've wanted to date you? It's been too long."

2D smiled. "So is that a yes?" he asked and Murdoc nodded, then brought their lips together.
