it took forever to come up with sorta "unique" names for genderbent 2D and murdoc, but i like how scarlet & mila sound together, yknow?

requested by cryinginurarms

(btw i'd thought of doing this before, but didn't know whether or not anyone would've wanted it lmao)

fluffy oneshot :)

also, genderbent 2D doesn't have black eyes so yeh. and instead of having no front teeth, i imagine a genderbent 2D with a cute little tooth gap, so that's how i'm writing it

Scarlet Pot swiped on her lipstick and ran her hands through her blue hair. As she looked in the mirror, she smiled. Her eyeliner perfectly accentuated her bright blue eyes, making them somehow even brighter than normal.

She glanced down at her clothes with an approving gaze. Mila will definitely like this, she decided. They'd only been together eight months and Scarlet was always eager to impress the girl who had seemed to take a liking to her for some reason. They'd gone on three dates so far, and on the first date, Mila had taken her shopping. Flannels, combat boots, black skinny jeans and more similar clothing was added to her wardrobe in place of the more child-like pieces she used to wear.

Mila had also bought her makeup—so much makeup that until recently Scarlet had no clue how to even go about applying it. That is, until she stayed up half the night watching various tutorials—How To Apply Foundation For Beginners, What is Makeup and How Do I Do It?, My Eyebrows Are Too Thin, ETC. Her mum had fainted when she first showed her, mainly because she'd made her eyebrows a bit too thick. Of course, eventually, her eyebrows had been fixed—her mum had lost count of how many times the word 'ouch' was said—and by her next date with Mila, they were shaped according to her overall face-shape.

Currently, Scarlet was wearing a shirt that had a band logo—The Clash—with a red flannel over it, some black jeans and a pair of all black Converse. Her normally long hair was cut to just below her shoulders, which had only happened because she'd begged her mum to let her get a haircut. Her lipstick, appropriately called Scarlet—which was absolutely funny to Mila, was reapplied once more and almost right on cue, she heard a knock on the door. Scarlet put her ear to the door and strained to listen. She could hear her mum's words, but not Mila's.

"Oh, hello, Mila. Come in! Scarlet's just in her room."

"Oh, alright. Well, I guess she'll be down in a minute or whatnot."

Scarlet figured that Mila had told her mum that they were to go on a date—most likely the movies, which was where their last date was, and the one before that. She opened her door a bit. "Be down in a second!" she yelled and closed the door.

After fixing her hair again and grabbing her bag, Scarlet walked out of her bedroom and closed the door behind her. She'd shoved her lipstick and phone in her bag—lipstick, just in case (wink wink) and phone, for you know, checking the time because despite being 18, she still had a curfew until she graduated. And curfew was at 11:30pm, decided by Scarlet herself. If her mother had decided on a curfew, there would be no date, because by the time she'd finished getting ready, it was nearly half-past five.

Mila looked her up and down before smiling. Scarlet noticed that they'd dressed almost alike but instead of a flannel, Mila donned a green jacket; instead of a Clash t-shirt, her shirt had Black Sabbath on it; instead of a pair of Converse, Mila wore olive green combat boots to match her jacket. Her long black hair was straightened and pulled back into a low ponytail. Her dark brown eyes had a ring of eyeliner around them and she wore crimson lipstick. At the sight of her, Scarlet fell in love all over again.
