About three weeks have passed, Mia and myself have gotten rather comfortable with each other, leaving our past's behind us for the time being. Yet her leg healed a few days later after we met, even I was impressed with that. In all honesty, she's been a rather comfortable source of optimism. After explaining my full plan, I know the entire dark castle in and out. Although with the other elemental, taking victor down will be as easy as blowing out a candle.

In all honesty, she's been a rather comfortable source of optimism. After explaining my full plan, I know the entire dark castle in and out. She even mastered sharpening a blade to the extent of it turning a piece of bark into splinters. That was in turn rather amazing given she's a quick learner, throughout the time we're learning to get used to her. Shape-shifting. Her wolf form is rather a spectacle, a pure silver wolf with a slight grey underbelly, her claws are as sharp as one of my finest knives. Even I wouldn't like a run in with them.
I bump past Mia as we almost finish doing the dishes after food. I'm drying as she's washing. I use strictly only steel cutlery.
"you know I got this set of cutleries from a group of miners who were being annoyed by a group of rogue ferocious vampires, turned out to be some type of horrific turns of events but. Safe to say It turned out well enough for them to give me these." I smile.
"Well, at least it had a good ending" she smiles back at me.
I nod "little bit of romance in there too, a young lad with a rather cute country girl too, I enjoyed the ending almost as much as they did" I dry more of the cutlery as Mia passes them to me.
She smiles down at the plate. "yeah, who doesn't like love stories that end well" Since she's here she's never mentioned any partner or boyfriend, only her brother, and mum. She doesn't like talking about her pack, and she hasn't told me why she left them. I can tell she loves them.
"mind you those tragedy books I've "borrowed" aren't very good. Who likes a dead protagonist... I mean unless you're the antagonist of the story" I look at Mia laughing a little.
"Yeah, I'm not a fan of stories that end that horrible either" she hands me the plate. "life can be bad enough, no need to rub it into our faces" she laughs a little.
I finally dry the final plate placing them in the correct draw and cabinet before jumping on the bed "done" I relax. Mia sits down in the chair across me. She still usually keeps physical distance between us.
Mia leans back closing her eyes. "I'm so tired."
"well the reserves are back up and brimming sorting us for, months even, the arrows have been sharpened for my crossbow and short bow. Even my knives are better than ever. "
She nods keeping her eyes closed as the afternoon sun shines on her face. "yeah, I know"
The days before had been peaceful. I'd been helping Mia get improve her stealth as a human (she didn't need much help with that in her other experiences although I taught her a few new tricks). Along with hand to hand combat down by the riverside which was exhausting. We used steel blades and she still manages to mess up and stab me in my leg. Mind you it was an exercise, but I was genuinely aching.
She yawns stretching a little. Right now, and even in this appearance she looks like a sunbathing dog, or rather wolf
"you know my leg is still aching from yesterday" I smirk relaxing looking at her trying to lighten the mood from our boiling hot cave.
