ANOTHER ONE FINE DAY WELCOMED Calligenia Martin, giving her million reasons to be grateful for. A beautiful guitar thrum from one of the best songs by Lady Antebellum rumbled through the vast space and literally muffled the intruding voices of visitors, spoiling Calligenia's slightly weary ears over the language she still needed years to overcome.
Ever since her pregnancy was so close to the due date, Calligenia had to stop several times in her steps due to lack of breath. A hand resting on her back, Calligenia walked through the market while waiting for her call to be answered by Mitchie.
It was a bit odd that Mitchie made the ginger stay in her apartment last night, but early this morning Calligenia found her best friend already off to work. And now Mitchie asked her to buy a headache medicine at E-Mart.
As much as Calligenia had said no, Mitchie persisted on her buying it, as if she was dodging the fact that the ginger was pregnant. It didn't mean Calligenia refused to help her best friend, but she just hoped Mitchie bought it by herself because the ginger now was easily exhausted.
"God, I'm eight months pregnant and you still want me to go for a walk." Calligenia said once Mitchie picked up her call. "Anyway, if you're sick you should stay at home rather than having to work with an unhealthy condition."
A couple of whispered voices were heard on the background which made Calligenia frown, wondered where Mitchie was and why the people who might be behind her were whispering. Calligenia was about to ask, but stopped when she heard Mitchie shout shut up to whoever was with her at the moment.
"Stop protesting, Ginger, there's an event that I cannot miss today." Mitchie replied, escaping out a small laugh in the end. "Have you brought what I want?"
"Not yet." Calligenia answered as she slowly made her way to aisle nine. "What did you ask for again?"
"Apain – oh shut up, Loki's not dead!" Mitchie suddenly scolded someone, causing Calligenia to keep her phone at bay as she scowled at the screen. "I'mon the phone, you ass, shush – Alli?"
Calligenia brought her phone closer to her ear again. "Who's with you?"
"An insect." Mitchie answered bluntly, receiving a variety of laughter on the background. "I mean nobody. . .where are you anyway?"
"Almost there. You know you sound okay, Mitch, why did you ask me to come here? Are you setting me up with someone again? Because if so, I swear to God, I will–" Calligenia's words froze in her throat as she abruptly halted on her pace, her eyes fixed on someone standing in the middle of the hall. "Holy shit – Sebastian Stan."
Sundry feelings instantly hoofed her entire body and certainly made her think that she only saw things. It had been five months since their last encounter, and his marriage. No. This wasn't true, Sebastian wasn't really here. He was in New York with his little family, living a somewhat happy life. However the moment when Sebastian awkwardly waved a hand to her, Calligenia knew he was real.
