DECEMBER, 2012.

"DAD, HOW CAN I KNOW THAT THIS IS A MEATBALL WHEN I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE?" Ivory Stan protested on the phone while glancing around at the hallway she was walking on. "Great, we're in the aisle of medicine now."

It was almost ten-thirty at night, but their father decided to give them a task, which was go to E-Mart to buy something to eat. If it was in New York, they would be happy to do so, but they were on a vacation in a country whose language was absolutely strange to their ears. None of the letters the Stan siblings could understand unless there was a translation below.

Boredom had assaulted them since they had been wheeling around the store aimlessly, not until a woman caught Sebastian Stan's attention. All the noise from Ivory's mouth muffled somewhere as Sebastian landed his eyes to someone standing at the end of the hall, staring blankly at the stuff in front of her.

It was supposed to be just a common sight, but his heart kept saying to stay where he was because from the attitude that she radiated off her body – it literally didn't look that good. She kept clutching the cloth of her shirt that was on the part of her chest and the other hand also gripped the shelf for dear life, not to mention that she constantly winced.

"Sebastian, meatballs over there, let's go. Aisle nine is only for medicine," Ivory announced and tried to pull his hand, but instead he pulled back, causing the girl to be slightly thrown off. "Come on, we have to go. What are you doing?"

Sebastian nodded his head curtly to the woman's direction. "Look at her."

Ivory followed his gaze to land on the same ginger head figure and frowned, narrowing her eyes. "She looks like she's in pain."

And as if Ivory's voice was blaring out loud, the woman turned and stared at them. Her mouth parted slightly and it was clear that she was having trouble breathing, but even so she forced her lips to lift up. Beads of sweat slithered down her face, but it didn't stop her to leave a smile at the siblings.

Ivory instantly grinned and slapped his chest. "She gave you a smile, smile back!"

Sebastian threw his sister an unpleasant look before giving the woman his genuine smile as well. And at that moment, something snapped within him, seeing her sweet smile and her light brown eyes shone a void yet stunningly vibe. Even though it was only a glimpse, but somehow it managed to make his heart racing unruly.

Unfortunately, it didn't last long as what happened next was beyond their expectations. Everything happened in slow motion, her sweet smile twisted into a scowl, her facial feature was aghast in a trance of pain that made her sickly pale. The moment her eyes started to droop, Sebastian knew that she would surely lose consciousness and instinctively he found himself scurrying toward her, catching her before she collided with the ground.
