Mother's Day

Evan took the test the day before.

When he saw the results, he almost screamed.

See, Evan was born female and now lives as a male, though not having gotten any kind of surgery. So he could get pregnant.

And he had.

It gave him an idea.

The Next Day

Jared woke up next to his husband in bed. He put on his glasses and looked over.. Evan wasn't there.

Odd, he thought, I usually wake up first.

He got out of bed and went into the kitchen.

In there was Evan, making pancakes. He turned and smiled at his husband.

"Morning, babe!" He said, continuing to mix batter.

Evan only made pancakes on special days, so this puzzled Jared.

"What's all this, Ev?"

Evan giggled. "Oh, I just thought we should do something special for today."

Jared paused. "..Why?"

"It's mother's day, silly!"

Jared tilted his head. "You... Aren't a mother?"

Evan looked back at Jared. "Soon-to-be."

It took Jared a moment, but when he realized what it meant, his eyes filled with tears.

"You're kidding."

Evan shook his head, the smile growing wider.

Jared ran towards his husband, hugging him. Evan laughed and ruffled Jared's hair.

Jared pulled back, his teary eyes full of happiness.

"You're gonna be a mother. Oh my god."

Evan laughed again. "I know!!"

They exchanged a kiss, Jared then pulled out his phone and texted everyone telling them to come over.

Evan walked back into the kitchen as Jared stayed back texting people.

About 5 minutes later, he turned back to Jared.

"Hey, babe? I think we have way too much pancake batter."

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"I have a solution for that."
