Chasity
“You ready yet, Chas? The car’s out front!” Zeke yelled up the stairs to me. I was zipping up the last suitcase and making sure that I had everything I needed before leaving the house. I had eight suitcases in all filled with all my shoes, clothes, underwear and bras, and my hygiene products. I also packed a few bathing suits just in case Zeke and I went swimming or something, but I highly doubted that I would leave where I would be staying at. I wasn't planning on doing anything but filming this documentary and that was all. Nothing more, nothing less.
“Alright, I’m coming!” I yelled back to him, looking at the suitcases. I was sure I had packed enough clothes for six months, so I picked up the two lightest Louis Vuitton duffel bags and placed the straps of them over my shoulder, leaving the other bags for Zeke to carry. I hurried down the stairs and met Zeke outside at the trunk.
He looked down at the duffel bags with a raised eyebrow. “That’s all you’re taking with you? Two bags? Let me remind you we’ll be gone for half a year.” I placed the bags into the back and placed a hand on my hip.
I rolled my eyes. “I know that Zeke, I packed way more bags then this. The rest of them are upstairs waiting for you.” I playfully winked at him before getting inside the car and rolling the windows down.
“There you go with that shit again, Chasity...” Zeke complained, walking up the front stairs to enter the house again. “What do I look like to you? A damn maid or something?” He stopped at turned around so I could the crazy look on his face. Laughing, I watched him shake his head and disappear into the house. I turned my attention to the driver, Mario. Mario usually drove me around to my interviews, the airports or wherever else I needed to go. Mario was my only driver, or should I say the only person who I allowed to drive me around.
“How’s it going Mario?” I asked him, rolling down the window that separated us. Startled, he jumped in his seat a little before he adjusted the mirror so that he could see me.
He smiled, tipping his hat. “I’m great Ms. Daniels, how are you today?”
I groaned. “What did I tell you about that Mario? It’s Chasity, not Ms. Daniels. You make me feel I’m old when I’m only 19.”
“I’m sorry Ms. Chasity.” Mario chuckled.
I giggled. “It’s all good. Nothin’ but love, Mario. Nun’ but love.”
After what felt like years, Zeke finally out the house, somehow locking the door behind him. He had two duffel bags hanging from shoulders and two suitcases in his other hand. I wanted so much to burst out laughing from watching him struggle so much, but I decided to go and help him. Climbing out the car, I hurried over to him and grabbed the two bags in his hand.
Letting out an exhausted sigh, he threw the suitcases into the trunk. “What do you have in those bags girl? The whole damn closet?” Zeke asked, out of breath. He wiped his sweaty forehead before shaking his head. “You know what? Don’t even answer that, let’s just go.” Chuckling, I got back in the car and buckled myself into the seatbelt.
“So, we’re heading to the airport?” I heard Mario ask.
“Yeah and then after that, we’re going to Glendale.” Zeke answered for me.
“Hey Zeke, let’s play a game.” I whispered in his ear, shaking him. We were on the plane heading to Virginia and it was going on three in the morning. The pilot said that we would land in about 45 minutes, but until then, I needed something to occupy my mind. Zeke groaned before shrugging my hand off his shoulder. I shook him again, but this time, even harder. “Wake up Zeke!”
