KatrinaI scrolled through all the contacts in my phone before stopping at Zay. Pressing the speaker icon on the phone, I set it beside on the bed beside me. I picked up my tablet and began reading the article that I had accidently pressed on. Nineteen year old sensation, Chasity Daniels, on the set of her first interview for her upcoming documentary, The Urban Daily, set to hit theaters later on this year. Below the article was a few pictures snapped of Tyler Perry posing with Chasity. If I'm not being mistaken, it looked as if they were in the downtown's Marriot Hotel. It's been years since I heard that name and to be completely honest, it sickened me to my stomach.
After Chasity permanently left Glendale unexpectedly, things between us haven't been the same and probably won't ever be the same. It's amazing at how the person who you thought knew you best, the person who you've grown up with you, would be the same person who would've stabbed you in your back. It was like Chasity just let the fame get to her head and forgot all about her day ones, the people who were here for her in the beginning; me, Tristan and Pablo. Not once did I hear from her after she left and as a person who wasn't really as emotional, she hurt my feelings. I had no doubt in my mind that Chasity wasn't going to make it big because she was one hell of a writer and I give her her props for that, but forgetting about your best friend? I couldn't leave behind and forget about that important person.
That just goes to show that we weren't friends in the first place.
"Katrina?!" I heard Zay yell from the phone.
"Oh, shit." I took the phone off of speaker and placed it up to my ear. "Hello?"
"Is you deaf or something? I've been calling your name for the past five minutes now." He said in an irritated tone.
I brushed it off. "Whatever Zay, is Tristan over there with you?"
He scoffed. "Why? Is that who you called over here for? Tristan?"
"Look Zay," I started off, becoming highly annoyed with him. "I need to talk to Tristan, it's really important."
He smacked his lips. "Whatever Katrina, hold on." For the next couple of minutes, there was a lot of shuffling noises in the background and a bunch of whispering going on.
"Hello?"
"Tristan? It's Katrina, I came across something this morning and I just wanted to ask you something relating to it."
He cleared his throat. "Sure, what is it?"
"Did you know that Chasity's back in town for the next couple of months?" There was a long silence over the phone before I heard Tristan kiss his teeth.
"Chas? My ex-girlfriend, Chasity?"
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, that Chasity."
"Nah, I didn't. When she did she come? But most importantly, why is she back? I haven't heard from in almost three years. After I found out she was cheating on me with Cha-" he paused before continuing on. "After I found out she cheated on, we broke up and I never heard from her since."
I frowned. "She cheated on you? She never told me that, all she told me was that you two were better off as friends. Nothing more, nothing less."
Snickering to myself, I shook my head out of dismay. All of those lies she told me had me thinking that our friendship was just a fake one. This girl was really something else. "Yeah, I just found out it this morning. Apparently she's doing a film or something? There's this article on it on the Glendale's newspaper that came out yesterday."
"Wow..." Was all that Tristan could say. "Have you seen her yet?"
"No." I told him. "I don't think I wanna see her after all the shit that went down before she left. I mean, the least she could've did was tell me goodbye or something. She couldn't even be woman about the situation and do that."
