The Arizona boy couldn't believe the facts right in front of him, and it probably explained the nervous pacing and sweating that was occuring in the moment. The fact he was about to become a dad to twins with a girl who he didn't even love was just hitting him, and so he crouched in a closed off, pretty much empty area of the hospital, and put his head in his hands as he let all the thoughts he had been closing himself off to the last couple of years rush back at him and flood his mind.

"SHUT UP!" the boy yelled, silently glad no one was around to hear his scream, because any normal person would have no idea why he was yelling at himself. As soon as those words left his mouth, he broke down. He broke down into what he thought were tears that would never stop. The thoughts (and the tears) were pushed to the back of his mind when he felt a hand on his shoulder, looking up to see his older sister, who was barely 20 herself.
"They're beautiful big bro, one boy and one girl."
"T......They were born?" and he rubbed his face before shakily standing up and following his sister to the newborn nursery, grinning when he finally saw them and turning to the nearest nurse.
"D....Do you think I can hold them? I.....Im the dad of those two," and he pointed at the two twins, before the nurse nodded and softly placed the newborns in his arms. He softly smiled, and nuzzled both their noses before continuing to talk.
"Hey there little munchkins, I'm Auston and the two of you got stuck with me for a dad," and the boy nervously chuckled. "Look, I don't know how the three of us are gonna get through this thing together, but I promise that I am gonna protect the both of you with everything I have in me, I won't let anyone harm you. And yeah, I know that your real mom sucked and she left right after you were born, but daddy is gonna fix his mistakes, and he's gonna get the love of his life back."
He smiled.
"Scarlett, she's amazing you two are gonna love her and the four of us will make a damn good family, daddy just has to fix some stuff before he can make that happen."

"Sir?" as a nurse poked her head in the boy's room, a small gift bag in her hand. "This was left for you, and I think you'll want it."
As the boy unwrapped the gift, he found two onesies with the custom "Killer Cupcake" logo that he knew all too well to be Scarlett's, along with a bunny which had a pink bow, a bear with a blue bowtie, a small chain in a red little box, and a note. He picked up the note, and began to read.

Congratulations on the twins, parenthood is an absolutely incredible experience and im over the moon for you that you get to enjoy that experience with those twins. I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you, I really am, but I hope you know that right now it's just too hard for me. Anyways, I sent Mitch along with a little gift. The onesies are for both the twins, and I hope that with those they know that I will always be there for them if they need any extra love and support or just a female perspective in general. When I was born, my mom had given me that exact chain you see in the little red box. Even though Hailee isn't my daughter, I have a feeling one day she might be important to my family, so put the chain around her neck, and one day tell her the legacy of it, and how many proud women have worn the chain before her. I also had a similar bunny, and my brother's had similar bears to the ones in the bags. I know that these aren't my twins, but with the past the two of us have had, I just thought that letting the two of them into my world would be really beautiful. Anyways, I hope to see you and the twins soon.
