Let me tell you a story.
Three months ago I was in New York working as a lawyer, when I suddenly received a call from my brother, saying that my sister is getting married. At first I was shocked of course, that would be anyone's initial reaction when they hear that kind of news. After that call I immediately give my job to my friend and booked a flight home.
She married Karl Angelo Bañez, one of the most popular civil engineer in town. Personally, I don't like him for my sister but our parents did everything just to pursue their wedding. I knew that the day before the wedding Jenny tried to escape more like run away but I know dad too well. He'd do anything to satisfy himself. I'm not saying that he's a bad parent or something, and I know that he knows what he's getting Jenny into.
The day of the wedding should be the happiest day for my sister but that was way different from what I've seen. Maybe most of them thought that she's happy cause she's smiling and all but I knew better. At that time she may be a beautiful and happy bride but for me all I saw was the saddest yet strongest bride.
Kilala ko ang kapatid ko, hindi ipinipilit ang imposible, nalaman ko ang ugali niyang yan nang minsan na siyang nabigo noon sa pagpili ng kanya propesyon. Hindi man kami ganoon kaclose pero sobrang tranparent niya para hindi ko mapansin ang mga emosyon niya.
Another thing that justifies my hunch was her eyes. Those eyes that always sparkles whenever she's happy but that day the sparkles are gone, replaced by certain loneliness and fear, maybe that fear is meant for her marrying a man who doesn't give a damn on her. Let alone she loves the guy but he didn't even bother to return it and now it is their wedding day. Everyone in the family knows that Jenny loves Karl since highschool days, the very reason why we are overly protective of her.
According to the detective I hired Karl Angelo Bañez was in a relationship with a certain Niña Arroyo. Loyal din daw ito sa girlfriend kaya nagdalawang isip na ako noong nagdesisyon si Karl na pakasalan si Jenny.
Nang ikasal ang dalawa ay pinapatuloy ko sa detective ang pagmamatyag sa dalawa. Nakakatanggap ako ng weekly report at isa sa mga yon ay ang reports na dumating nitong umaga lang na naglalaman ng impormasyon kung bakit umalis at naaksidente si Jenny.
Binasa ko na yun at ngayon ay hawak na ni Jerome, hindi ko siya tinatawag na kuya dahil dalawang taon lang ang agwat namin. Binabasa niya iyon habang kami ang nagbabantay kay Jenny. Ilang araw na mula nang ilasbas si Jenny sa ICU, noon kasing sinabing nasa critical stage siya ay inilipat siya sa ICU mula sa ER. Stable na daw ang lagay niya pero kailangan pa din maobserbahan.
"Anak ng demonyo talaga yang Karl na yan. T*ngna mag uwi ba naman ng babae sa bahay nila ni Jenny. Gago talaga." sabi ni Jerome na nakatingin pa din sa mga dokumento. Dumating bigla si Karl at hindi ko na napigilan si Jerome nang bigbugin niya si Karl, after all he deserve it.
Nagulat na lamang kami nang dumating si dad at inawat si Jerome na akmang iaarm throw si Karl. Napagalitan kami pero nagpaliwanag si Jerome kaya naabswelto at pagkatapos nun ay sinapak ni dad ng isang malakas lakas si Karl na ikinatumba nito.
"That's for my only daughter" sabi ni dad at tumalikod na at pumasok sa room ni Jenny.
Pinagbalaan na namin siya na wag nang lumapit sa kapatid namin kahit kailan.
Jonathan's POV
Nailipat na si Jenny sa kanyang hospital room pero 3 weeks na hindi pa rin siya nagigising. Araw araw kung dumalaw si Carla at kinakausap ang best friend niya ganun din si Karl pero hindi talaga namin siya pinalapit. He already blew his chances the moment he hurt our sister.
