i found our sketchbooks from 6th grade
which we spent most of our time in class
doodling on without paying attention .
even they were full of stick figure drawings
we thought we made such masterpiece .

i couldn't hold back my tears
because i let my mind wander there ,
to the moments when you used to come over
with intentions of doing homework
but ended up playing scary maze game
when we went to the camp
and we were left blindfolded at night
but i knew you were just 3 metres away .

i saw you at the cafe the other day
your smile was something i haven't seen in years
the crooks around your lips and your squinty eyes
still appeared like on those days
when we talked and laughed at stuffs .

why are we not like that anymore ?

time flies and we changed so much .
from sticking with each other ,
we became names in contact lists .
we left the school ,
we met new friends ,
we drifted apart
but what remains are those books
which held all of our memories.

break ups may hurt
but losing touch of an old friend is much worse :(

i'll be on a short hiatus, cause, exams.
and as much as i don't mind about my grades, i gotta prove that average students can outshine those who top the rank too
*determined face*

maybe will be back in June (with loads of poems i will write during the exam when i have no idea what to fill in the damn blanks anymore)
