to be used or to be useless?
when you're smart, everyone envies you. of course, flying colors with slightest hardwork, straight A's without a tortured mind. everyone envies your mind, your brain, your ability to comprehend bunches of facts and to solve absurd mathematical problems. there, your ego will rise. you feel like being on top of the mountain while they still cling on ropes. you feel comfortable in that crown, you feel confident in that throne. you miss to see that the hill is not as steep as you think it is. you strut so arrogantly at the peak until you take the wrong step. a step causing you to slip off the the cliff. a step to remind you that you can't stay at the peak forever. cause when you're smart, overconfidence is a deadly trait.
when you're smart, everyone envies you. you become the hot-spot for when examinations are around the corner. like continuous punches, everyone bombards you with questions. books on your desk that aren't your own until you can't revise for yourself. they would love your company as the saying goes along the lines of "friends' personality determine yours". they claim to be your good friend. there, your ego will build up. you take shots of compliments. they make you feel good about yourself, powerful even. you amaze them with your knowledge, knowing theirs would never surpass yours. then when the season is over, everything turns back to normal. your friends suddenly aren't yours anymore and they turn their back to you. then it downs on you, they only love your company when they need something from you. cause when you're smart, fake friends are hard to detect.
when you're smart, everyone envies you. your face is a bull's-eye target board. they think you're smart. you are capable of everything. you can keep up the coincidental A's, you can answer every question without flaws. you don't have to work hard to achieve what people mainly want. they think you are perfect. there, you will realize you are not. being egoistical won't take you anywhere. because you can fall too, you can fail too, but they don't know it all. you're perfect in their eyes, that is. why can't you answer the simple questions, aren't you smart? why can't you do that, aren't you smart? why do you look so stressed for this exam, aren't you smart? aren't you smart? the truth is that, when you're smart, you could get depressed too.
so tell me, are smart people useful or being used?
if it's the latter, then is being useless better?
