JON, OVERCOME WITH REGRET AND GRIEF WITH LYANNA'S DEATH, DESCENDED A STAIRCASE, FOLLOWED BY AN UNSULLIED WARRIOR. HE LOOKED AT THE TWO UNSULLIED GUARDS AT THE FOOT OF THE STAIRCASE, STRIDING PAST THEM. AN UNSULLIED WARRIOR OPENED THE DOOR FOR JON, WHO WALKED PAST HIM INTO A LARGE, DARKENED STOREROOM STREWN WITH CABINETS, TABLES, POTS AND CRATES. THE DOOR SLAMMED SHUT BEHIND JON AS HE CAME UPON JAIME, SITTING ON THE FLOOR, HIS BACK AGAINST A SMALL WOODEN PEN. TYRION WAS SITTING ON A CHAIR, ACROSS FROM HIS BROTHER.

"I brought some wine." Tyrion lifted up his cup. "Care for some?" Jon shook his head.

"Where's Miah?" Jaime couldn't look at Jon.

"Davos is with her." Jon cleared his throat.

"Good." Jaime sighed. "Your queen doesn't keep prisoners for long. So, I just ask one thing of you." Jon raised his eyebrow at Jaime. "Make sure Miah is okay. She was the last person Lya-"

"Ser Davos is a good man." Tyrion interrupted his brother. "He'll take good care of the little girl."

"Why?" Jaime finally looked at Jon, with tears in his eyes.

"She betrayed our Queen." Jon defended.

"She was your twin sister." Jaime raised his voice. Tyrion looked at his brother, brows furrowed. "I know I killed Cersei, but that was because she was evil."

"Lyanna was -"

"Please don't tell me that sentence was going to be; 'Lyanna was evil'." Tyrion got up off the chair. "Because we all know she was the furthest from evil."

"She was sweet, caring, brave, and honourable." Jaime stood up, face to face with Jon. "And you killed her!" He screamed at Jon.

"I did it in the best interests of our Queen." Jon argued.

"She was your sister, Jon. Your twin sister." Tyrion looked at him with sheer disappointment. "

"And I'm going to have to live with that for the rest of my life."

"Would you have done it?" Jaime looked up at Jon

"What?" He asked.

"You've been up there, on a dragon's back." Jaime raised an eyebrow. "You've had that power. Would have burned the city down?"

"I don't know." Jon shrugged his shoulders.

"Yes, you do." Jaime scoffed at his answer. "You won't say because you don't want to betray her, but you know."

"It doesn't matter." Jon argued with the Lannister brothers.

"It matters more than anything." Tyrio  sighed. "When she murdered the slavers of Astapor, I'm sure no one but the slavers complained. After all, they were evil men. When she crucified hundreds of Meereenese nobles, who could argue? They were evil men. The Dothraki khals she burned alive? They would have done worse to her. Everywhere she goes, evil men die, and you all cheer for her for it. And she grows more powerful and more sure that she is good and right. She believes her destiny is to build a better world for everyone. If you believed that - if you truly believed it, wouldn't you kill whoever stood between you and paradise?" Jon took a moment to gather his thoughts. "I know you love her." Jaime stepped closer to Lyanna, with Miah beside him.

"Lyanna went against everything I believed in for me." Jaime placed his hand over his heart. "Love is more powerful than reason. We all know that."

"Love is the death of duty." Jon looked over at Jaime's grief strucken face.

"You just came up with that?" Tyrion gave him a small smile.

"Maester Aemon said it a long time ago." As Jon spoke, he pushed back the tears.

"Sometimes duty is the death of love." Tyrion nodded his head. "You are the shield that guards the realms of men." Tyrion looked at Jon. "And you've always tried to do the right thing. No matter the cost, you've tried to protect people. Who is the greatest threat to the people now? It's a terrible thing we're asking. It's also the right thing. Do you think Jaime will be the last person she'll execute? Who is more dangerous than the last living rightful heir to the Iron Throne?"

"That's her decision." Jon started to turn around to leave Tyrion and Jaime.

"Arya and Sansa?" Jaimed asked him. "You see them bending the knee?"

"They will be loyal to the throne." Jon's face was expressionless.

"Why do you think Sansa got Lyanna to tell Tyrion the truth about you two?" Jaime raised his voice. "Because she doesn't want Daenerys as queen."

"She doesn't get to choose." Jon argued.

"No." Tyrion shook his head. "But you do."
