momo sat with mina in her room. they were planning on doing homework together, but momo was more focused on staring at mina as she obliviously wrote in her notebook.

mina looked up and momo quickly looked away and awkwardly hid her red face with her hands. she saw mina grinning as she set her pencil down. "you look pretty today."

momo looked back at mina. "me?" she asked. mina laughed. "who else would i be talking about?"

momo laughed too, dropping her head. "right. well, thank you." she said quietly. she raised her head and rested it on her hands. she was only inches away from mina's face.

mina was shy, but she knew what she was doing. she pressed her lips against momo's, and momo almost pulled her head back until she realized what was going on. she closed her eyes and kissed mina back. this is what she was waiting for.

mina pulled away and pressed her forehead against momo's, and let out a nervous giggle. momo giggled with her. "that was nice." she said. mina smiled brightly and nodded in agreement.

she got up and grabbed her things. "i'll see you tomorrow, momo." she kissed her cheek and walked out.

momo covered her face with her hands, trying not to cry out of pure joy. she laid on her back and smiled. she had to call sana. she pulled out her phone and dialed the familiar number.

sana answered on the first ring. "hello?"

"sana!" momo yelled out cheerfully. "you're not gonna believe this!" she said. sana didn't answer.

"so, i've been talking to this girl named mina. we've become really close and i kinda have a crush on her... and she kissed me tonight!" momo gushed. her heart felt warm, and she hoped that sana could share the excitement with her. besides, there's no way sana wasn't talking with another girl, just like momo was.

there was silence on the other end for a moment, before sana started squealing. "momoring's got a girlfriend!" she sang. momo laughed. "she's not my girlfriend yet.." momo whispered.

"momoring's almost got a girlfriend!" sana restated. they laughed together, and when the laughing died down, the guilt began to sink into momo.

"i'm sorry for not calling." momo said. "i've just been really busy." she lied.

"it's okay, me too." sana agreed. "i've been taking driving classes." she lied.

there was a small silence, and this time it was awkward.

"i need to go shower and stuff, i didn't realize how late it was getting.." momo muttered, rolling out of bed. "i'll call you tomorrow." she said.

"okay! goodnight momoring." sana sang. momo smiled. "goodnight sana."

she never called sana.

she hung up the phone. she showered, told her parents goodnight, and fell asleep with a smile on her face. meanwhile, sana fell asleep crying, her tears making her pillow wet.
