sana didn't call.
momo was too scared to try.
everyday after school for the next few weeks, momo would stare at her phone screen, trying to muster up the courage to press the 'call' button. she wasn't able to. she didn't know what she was going to say if sana even answered. she told all of her friends what was going on and they all comforted her.
"i can't imagine how i'd feel if tzuyu and i fought." chaeyoung said, pouting. she grabbed tzuyu's hands.
"we fight everyday, chaeyoung." tzuyu said. everyone laughed at the youngest couple.
dahyun pouted, putting her head into the crook of jihyo's neck. "i want a cute girlfriend, guys. or a cute boyfriend. why won't anyone date me?" she whined.
everyone got up from their seats in the cafeteria and showered dahyun with hugs. "i'll date you, dahyun. we're the only single ones in the group anyways." jihyo mumbled.
dahyun kissed jihyo's cheek and them they continued to eat their lunch. momo looked at her phone and sighed. it was hard to forget about sana when the thing that reminded momo of her was something she always carried.
"you okay?" mina asked.
momo turned her phone off and smilled. "yeah." she said with a sigh. mina flashed her a comforting grin.
momo went straight home after school. the end of junior year was coming, and she wanted to plan something with nayeon and jeongyeon, and sana if she was no longer mad.
she paced around her room after she dialed jeongyeon's number. she didn't answer. momo let out a long sigh. "okay. i'm sure she's just busy." momo said to herself quietly. she dialed nayeon's number and pressed call.
"hello?" nayeon answered. momo was almost surprised that she answered.
"hi, uh, it's me." momo said, her voice shaking.
"hi, momo! it's been awhile since we talked. how are you?" nayeon asked.
momo rocked back and forth on her heels. "i've been better." she admitted. "how about you?" she asked.
"i've been good. why are you calling?" she asked. "not to sound rude, but you usually don't call me to chat. i'm not that kind of girl."
"i know." momo said with a small chuckle. "i was just thinking.. maybe we should all meet up over the summer." she said.
momo could hear nayeon shuffling around. "okay." she said. "i don't know if sana would be on board, though." she continued, quieter this time.
momo's heart fell. "so you know about our fight?" she asked.
nayeon clicked her tongue. "yeah. she told me about it."
momo sighed. "i realized how much i miss you guys. i miss her the most and now she hates me." she whispered. it hurt her to even say those words.
nayeon chuckled. "she doesn't hate you, you can trust me on that. she still loves you more than anything. she's just hurt, and needs time."
momo's eyes filled with tears. "it's been so long, nayeon." she whispered. "i've neglected all of you for so long. senior year is about to start and i haven't seen you guys since freshman year." she continued.
"momo, it's okay. we understand. you're only a few hours away but it's still hard for us meet up. i'm just now starting to drive." nayeon said. "don't get yourself down."
momo wiped her eyes. "i just don't know why it was so easy for us to drift apart." she said.
"it's okay, momo. i'll talk to jeongyeon and sana about meeting up and i'll call you tomorrow, alright?" nayeon asked.
momo nodded. "okay. i love you, nayeon." she mumbled.
"i love you too, momo." nayeon said, giggling.
momo hung up and she felt lonely again. she laid down on her bed. she would call mina, but she felt weird around her. she didn't know why, but she decided that it'd pass sooner or later.
she didn't know what else to do. she grabbed her phone and quickly pressed sana's contact, and the phone began to ring. she held the phone up to her ear and nervously tapped her foot. no answer.
she laid down on her bed and sighed. there was no way sana would come to visit. but if nayeon and jeongyeon did, maybe they could convince her to stop hating momo.
and that's when momo realized she couldn't live without sana.
