Slap slap slap
Feet against ground.
Gumboots wade through slush.
Muddy puddles slow my steps
and slippery slime makes me slip and slide.Rain tumbles down in torrents,
Blurs my searching eyes.
Mist coats the ground,
Fills the atmosphere
stifles shivering souls.And the wind
Blocks all other sound.
Ears straining through the chaos,
Searching searching
Searching
Looking for well known cry.But chaos blocks all other sound
and cry after cry is carried
away by heartless wind.
What was lost
Shall not be found.
