I saw them fly,
As free as my spirit.
Saw them glide,
Like nothing on earth
Brought them more joy.And I knew then:
As long as they were in the sky;
As long as they still fly,
My heart will not be enchained;
My soul not anchored.For it will be with the birds.
Spreading it's wings;
Following the flock
–Or better yet–
Leaving it behind.
Following it's own path–
Wherever the wind may take it.October 2017
