Jungkook was exhausted.

For the past week, he'd fallen asleep with tears in his eyes, waking up to find dried tear stains coloring his light cheeks.

Because, he was just missing his parents more than usual.

He had to practically stress over helping a few of the people in the kingdom with lighting the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the town, which added to his exhaustion.

He would fall asleep over his desk earlier than usual after signing papers, only to have Namjoon help Taehyung take him up to sleep.

Though every morning in that week, he would wake up to his best friend and guard just holding him, just telling him it was okay.

Including today.

The young king felt himself embraced in warmth once more, picking up Taehyung's vanilla scent, eyes seeking the window as he saw flakes of snow flutter down.

"Taeeeee," But instead of continuing to try to wake Taehyung's up for the day, the younger just snuggled closer into his childhood friend, feeling better from his sadness.

"Hyung, we should get up. . ."

Taehyung huffed lightly, opening one eye quickly, making Jungkook giggle softly.

"Why do you do this, Kook?"

"Do what?"

"Not let me sleep," The older whined, only to laugh when Jungkook embraced him in a hug, falling backwards onto the floor before holding the younger tightly.

"Woah, your guard reflexes came in quick!"

"Ow, my back!" It has just hit Jungkook in realization, that Taehyung was shirtless, only throwing him some plain white shirt he had hidden away.

"Ew, put a shirt onㅡ wait. . ."

Tae looked up, "What is it?"

A wide and adorable grin appeared on Jungkook's face.

"Merry Christmas, hyung!"

Grey's POV

"It's Christmas, Mickey!"

I know it was kind of late to put up a tree, but since I didn't know when else to put it up, I just did it today.

I strung up the last ornament somewhere near the bottom, it being one I made in fourth grade, which is a while ago.

It was a horrible reindeer ornament, but I still liked to keep it.

Mickey sat on the couch, staring at me intently, as though waiting for me to break something.

Well, again.

We usually don't get snow this close to Christmas, but this year we at least got three inches, which isn't what you're used to, if you were raised in the Realm's.

We get almost five feet deep over there.

Which I don't really understand. . .

"Are you excited to see Namjoon and the others again?"

He barked happily, making me glare.

"Oh so you bark about them but not me? I'm hurt. I have practically raised youㅡ"

I cut myself off, my sudden attention span leveling down.

"Do you think anything. . . Changed?" I don't know if I was asking the dog or myself this question.

I mean, change is probably my greatest fear. One thing happens, and then it changes immediately.

Like, when my mother remarried quicker than I could breath when my dad passed away.

That change hurt.

And I hate that people say "change can be a good thing" but not in my case, really.

C'mon, Grey, it's Christmas. Don't be like this today.

I reached for my phone across the floor, going to text Jimin from my boredom.
