"rain, rain, dont go away, come again some other day ㅡ like maybe tomorrow, i have work . . ."
-Hi there.
My name is Su Grey. I'm a nineteen year old girl with a job that at least pays the bills.
I live in Seoul, but I was born in Daegu.
I wouldn't say I'm a pluviophile, but everyone says otherwise.
I used to live with my best friend, Miniu, but I guess I'm on my own now.
And just before we start this story of how we met, let me just tell you. . .
I FUCKING HATE CATS.
Well, not when he's around.
-
Miniu dragged me inside the feline filled cafe, or whatever you want to call it. . .
I had rejected the promise I made some weeks ago, that I promised her that I would come.
But honestly. . . I did it so she could shut up.
"Please, let me go! Kim Miniu, I'll kick you! STRANGER DANGER, STRANGER DANG-"
"Grey! You promised you would come!" She pouted slightly, closing the door behind us; her pout turning into a smirk.
I glared at her.
"Come on, just for a few minutes? Please. . ."
"Fine. Only for a few minutes, then we leave. But is there any place with no cats?" She sighed, pointing towards a back room.
I stomped towards the room, closing the door behind me and plugging in my earphones. I pulled my hoodie over my head, pulling on the strings and laying my head against the wall.
"You are my sunshine, you are my sunshine-"
"You make me happy, when skies are grey." I looked up at the different, soft voice, opening my eyes and pulling out the cords from my ears.
I looked around, seeing a boy sitting crisscrossed across the room. He had a cat in his lap, asleep.
He was. . . Pretty cute.
His pink hair ㅡ that he pulled off perfectly, by the way ㅡ was a bit ruffled.
Yet, he was hot and cute at the same time. Is that even possible. . . ?
"Sorry. I just heard the singing and thought it'll be a good place to just. . . Relax." He gave me a smile.
I swear my stomach turned into a home for butterflies during migration season.
"I'm Park Jimin. This is Missy." He extended his hand.
"I'm Su Grey. This" ㅡ I held up my thumb ㅡ "is my thumb. And it's not a finger."
He laughed softly. "It's nice to meet you, Grey. And I take it you don't really like cats. . . Why else would you be over here?"
"Um. . ."
"C'mon! Missy is nice, well, to me." He scratched the cat's ears, making it stir in it's sleep.
He moved over to me, causing me to back up deeper into the wall.
I probably looked stupid. But don't I always?
He smiled softly, before he gently grabbed my hand and pulled it towards the soft fur of the devil disguised creature. . .
My hands were no longer being controlled by Jimin, but I couldn't control anything I might have been doing.
My hand touched the cat's light fur, causing it to purr and push it's head further into my hand.
"See? She loves you," He smiled at me again. And I smiled, too.
"But this still doesn't change my opinions on cats, Missy is just different. . ." She crawled onto my lap, clawing at my shirt a little.
"Ah, she's just different." Jimin shook his head, before he giggled.
"She is! All animals love me, but I've never met one feline that actually allows me to touch them. They don't like me, I don't like them. Simple."
There was a comfortable silence in the room, before I spoke.
"Grey, are you willing to ㅡ oh my god, this sounds like a toothpaste commercial, but anyway, wanna hang out some time? I'm always free," He smiled.
Oh my god, that's so cute.
I bit the inside of my cheek, to keep from blushing. "Why not? You seem like an interesting person, Park Jimin. How about. . . Saturday afternoon, where that park is?"
"Sure. That reminds me," He pulled out his phone, nudging me lightly to give him mine.
"Trading number's? Really?"
"So you don't want to talk to me? I'm hurt, Su Grey." He playfully pouted before I typed in my number.
We traded back our phones, and I spoke again. "Is it okay if I put you down as 'theparkdowntown'?"
"Is it okay if I put you as 'myjams'?"
"Wait what?"
"I'm kidding! I'm putting you down as 'sunshine',"
"That's worse!" He burst into a fit of laughter, before I joined in with him.
"But I really am going to put you down as sunshine. It fits you, even if your name is grey. And not yellow, or something. . ."
I shook my head. "I'm not a Simpson, dummy. And I really am going to put
the park downtown.""I guess I'm okay with that," We shared a smile, before Miniu came bursting into the door.
"Grey? We can go now, of you want." She sighed, setting down the cat she had in her arms.
"Okay. I'll see you later, Jimin!" I gave him a weird salute, that he returned.
He lifted Missy's paw, waving it before he grinned slightly. Is he always smiling, it kills me. . . ?
Right when we walked from the building, my phone buzzed in my pocket.
