Its been 2 months since Jho and I became friends. And in that 2 months I can say that we became so close to each other. Parang sobra na naming kilala ang isat isa to the point na yung 2 months parang 2 years na. She became my closest in the team, I finally have my own bestfriend in the team. Dont get me wrong ha, my seniors, specially ate Ly and Den are so mabait pero iba parin yung feeling na meron kang sayo. Someone you can call your own.
In that 2 months we tell everything to each other. She told me the story about her and her ex boyfriend, baham. Pano sila nagkakilala at kung gaano nila kamahal ang isat isa. Pero like other story nagtapos to sa hiwalay, nawalan sya ng oras kay baham because of volleyball and baham wanted a girlfriend he can be with anytime he wants, so he choose to have a girl while he's still with Jho. They didnt have a closure and Jho said shes okay with it.
I also told her my story. How I have this one sided feelings for my long time friend. But I never told her who it was, and she never force me to tell her. I have my own reasons why I didnt tell her who it was, and Im not yet ready to tell it to anyone.
Last daybof training for my first year here in ateneo. After training someone yelled.
"Girls! Sabay ba kayo samin mag dinner?"
Kuya kiefer asked. Its a traditon na after last day of practice, basketball and volleyball team would come out to have a team dinner.
"Yeah. Hinihintay lang namin si maddie matapos."
Ate Ly said. Si maddie ang pinaka matagal maligo sa buong team at pag may team meeting or dinner after practice sya ang langing hinihintay.
I dont feel like going to that team dinner so I ask Ate Ly if I can be excuse because I need to study for my accounting finals. She told me naman na ok basta bumawi ako sa team at manlibre. Pagsakay ko ng car nagulat ako ng may biglang sumakay sa passenger seat.
"Accounting finals daw. San ka pupunta? May lakad ka no? Tinake mo na kanina yung exam na yun eh."
Jho said habang nakatingin sakin and wearing that smirk.
"I dont feel like going lang. Tsaka excuse you di ko pa talaga na tatake yung exam. Management yung tinake ko kanina. Ha!"
"Sus inamin mo rin namang ayaw mo sumama. Bakit ba ayaw mo sumama lagi pag kasama natin ang MBT? May ayaw ka ba sa kanila? Nababahuan ka ba kasi di sila nag sha shower after training?"
She said na sobrang kinagulat ko. Di sila nag sha shower after training? The hell?
"Uy joke lang. Mukha mo naman akala mo may napatay na sila sa amoy hahahaha."
Natawa nalang rin ako because of what she said. May funny side din talaga si Jho, medyo tago nga lang and minsan nya lang ipakita.
"So san na nga tayo pupunta?"
"Anong tayo? Sino may sabing isasama kita?"
"Paano ko makikitalis yung date mo kung di mo sakin ipapakilala?"
"Wala akong date wag ka pauso."
"Oh e di wala. So san tayo?"
"Anong saan? Uuwi na ako. Sasama ka? Hahahaha"
"Di ka pa uuwi. Kasi kung uuwi ka na dapat di mo suot yang jacket mo."
She notice that agad? Never pa akong umuwi galing sa school or training ng may suot na jacket. Kasi what for? e 15 minute drive lang naman ang layo from school to bahay.
"Oh natahimik ka akala mo di ko napansin ha. Observant to beh!"
She proudly said.
"Beh?"
"Ayaw mo? Arte ha. Di ba pang conyo?
"Whatever. Sige na aalis na ako. Bumalik ka na dun baka hinihintay ka na nila."
"Kanina pa sila nakaalis. Kaya nga tinatanong ko san tayo. Anuna? Ayos buhay din beatriz."
Napaisip ako bigla. Isasama ko ba si Jho sa safe place ko? After 5 minutes nakapag decide akong isama sya. Wala namang mawawala, public property naman sya so bat ko ipagdadamot.
Its a 2 hour drive simula sa school. Its a overlooking place wherein you can see all the lights of metro manila.
"Safe place ko to. Simula palang high school dito na ako nag pupunta pag kailangan ko ng peace of mind. Day or night maganda sya but I always prefer night. Wala na kasing tao and mas na aappreciate ko yung ganda ng city lights."
"You said nagpupunta ka dito for peace of mind. Bakit may nanggugulo ba sa isip mo ngayon?"
"You know the usual. School, life, volleyball and repeat hahahaha."
"Who is he bea?"
"Who?"
"Your friend. The one you have a secret feelings for?"
Its one of the reasons bat ayaw kong may sumasama sakin dito. Lalo na si Jho, observant sya, alam nyang di ako pupunta dito for nothing.
"Is it important for you na malaman who he is?
"If ayaw mo parin naman sabihin ok lang sakin. But I have someone in mind na kasi, I just need the corfirmation."
"Pano mo naman nasabing sya yung tao na yun?"
"1 year na tayong nasa team, and in that 1 year more than 10 times na ata tayo niyaya ng MBT na sumama sa kanila to hang out or to have dinner pero di ka sumasama. I know you're friends with him since high school pero bakit parang di kayo nag papansinan ngayon?"
She knows it already.
"We both have priorities in life. I have my volleyball carrer and he has his own carrer. Di naman ibig sabihin nun di na kami friends."
"Yeah I know that pero iba yung iwas mo sa kanya eh. Bakit ka sumama nung alam mong out of town sila?"
"Bakit ba ang dami mong tanong? Hahahaha"
"So sya nga. You dont need to answer dahil statement yan, di question hahahaha."
"I'll tell you my story. This time buo na."
