I think when you start to get the flashbacks of every tiny detail from a single moment, that's what hurts the most, because there is no way of stopping it. I hated the control that he had over me, without him even being here.

I awoke with a gasp, my eyes wide open, my mind reeling. The dream had been so vivid, so real, that for a moment I actually started to believe that it happened. That he was there. I sat up, familiarising myself with my surroundings.

Why was I in Maddie's room?

Loud voices echoed from the hallway into the room.

"Just let me explain to her, please"

It was Harry...

"She's asleep, she's gonna need some space Harry, let her breathe" Maddie?

"I'm trying to protect her Maddie"

"Well you did a pretty good job at protecting her when she passed out on the date you took her on, you're a real Romeo Harry good job"

It wasn't a dream, was it? My heart began to beat faster.

"Stop being a sarcastic bitch and just let me see her, if he's in there with her Maddie I swear I won't hesitate to break his neck" he was getting angry. But who was he talking about?

"Why are you so obsessed with her? You just want her because he does"

"No, I don't want her I need her. She's different"

"Oh quit it with the bullshit we both know you're not a fucking angel, you can't see her and that's final"

What was Maddie trying to protect me from? I needed an explanation.

I got up out of bed and tip toed slowly towards the door, to try and overhear their conversation more clearly. From the corner of eye I noticed Maddie's phone vibrating on her desk, I stopped in my tracks and turned around to see if I could see a caller ID on the phone.

It was too far away for me to see a name clearly, so I paced quickly to Maddie's desk beside her bed, to make sure I didn't miss the call. Who knows, it could have been something important that she couldn't afford to miss.

I was put at ease knowing it was Zayn who was ringing, so I picked up her phone and answered the call. Before I could even give an explanation as to why Maddie couldn't answer the phone herself, a familiar voice startled me.

"Maddie, is she okay? I'll be round with Zayn shortly"

My head started to throb, my palms began to sweat. It was him. It was really him.

Everything I convinced myself to be a dream, was in fact reality. I was lost for words, how could this even be happening?

My knees grew weaker at the thought of seeing Niall again. I stumbled backwards on to Maddie's desk, causing books to tumble to the floor making a loud bang.

Shit, what if Maddie and Harry heard that? I slid my back down the side of the desk, bringing my head to my palms. As soon as I reached the ground, Harry and Maddie both burst through the door.

I lifted my head up to face them. They noticed the phone laid on the floor beside me, and straight away, anxious looks spread across both of their faces.

"It was him wasn't it? It was Niall?" Maddie asked nervously.

I nodded slowly.

"He said both him and Zayn would be here shortly, I can't face seeing him again Maddie I really can't. " Maddie sighed as I faced my head back to the floor.

" I will take her to my place. " Harry instructed, sounding almost like a command.

The room fell silent for a minute.

" She's not going anywhere with you, mate "

We all turned to face the door and froze.
