Soon, it was the day before Laurel's birthday and Tam was over for dinner.

"We have some early birthday presents for you, Laurel." Laurel's dad said.

"Aww, thanks-- Wait. WHAT?!"

"You heard me right! Early birthday presents." He patted Tam on the back. "Tam here told us your birthday was tomorrow!" Tamani smiled at Laurel.

Laurel was ecstatic. "Oh my gosh! Are you serious? My birthday is tommorow?!?!"

"Yup. You're not the only one who looked in the Academy's birth records. " Tamani replied with a half-grin.

Laurel hugged Tam, then her parents.

"Now. On with the presents!" Laurel's mom said.

Laurel opened up a few presents. "Oh my gosh, Thank you! This was awesome!"

"Wait. Wait." Tamani said. "We have one more present for you..." Tamani said with a half-grin. He handed her a envelope. She opened it quickly and inside was a letter written in Tamani's handwriting. It read "pack your bags. We're going to Hawaii."

Laurel was speechless. Her jaw moved up and down, but no words came out. Suddenly, she turned around abruptly and threw herself against Tamani's chest. Then she hugged her mom and dad as well.

"Are you serious?" Laurel squealed.

"Yeah." Tamani said as he smiled back. "We're leaving tomorrow morning."

"Oh my gosh! I have to pack!"

"Umm. Yeah. Duh. That's what I said in the letter." The whole room laughed and Laurel dragged Tamani up to her room and she packed for the 2 week long trip. Tamani helped her pick out clothes that would hide her blossom. She zipped up her suitcase and sighed. "And done!"

"No. You forgot swimsuits!"

"Why would I need a swimsuit? I have a blossom and there is chlorine in the pool water and salt in the ocean."

"Ah, but Hawaii has desolate lakes on the mountainsides." He put 2 swimsuits in her suitcase.

"You just want to see me in my swimsuit." Laurel said teasingly.

"Yes, I do. But that's not the point. When was the last time you were swimming?"

Laurel thought. "Like 7 years."

"My point exactly."

Laurel smiled and laughed. "It's so funny seeing you trying to hide the fact that you just want to see me in my bikini!"

"So what if I do?" Tamani asked rhetorically.

"... Okay. We'll go swimming." Laurel smiled at the thought that she would see him in his swimsuit too.

Laurel went to bed and when she woke up at 6:00 in the morning, Tamani was hovered over her bed.

"Waky Waky!" He said jokingly. "Time to get to the plane."

Laurel had slept in her clothes that night so that she would be ready to go. Laurel fishtail braided her hair on the car ride to the airport.

When they were at the airport, Tamani remembered something. "Oh. And you can buy whatever you like; all expenses paid by Avalon." He said with a smile.

They got to security and Tamani got pulled over by the cop. "Take off your gloves. We need to do a wipe test."

"No. You will let me pass without one."

"As you wish."

Tamani walked passed security with a sly grin. He caught up to Laurel and her parents who had already passed security.
