Chapter 74

I'm baaccckkkk!!!

After reading the letter, everyone was in tears, breaking down. The children were clutching onto their parents- or parent- and all of the adults were crying too.

Tamani sat up. "I'll be back." He says.

Laurel starts after him, whispering in his ear, "Where are you going?"

"To 8192..."

"I'm coming." Laurel responded.

Laurel grasped Tamani's hand and they walked out the door to go and investigate.

Walking down the path in silence was acceptable, but a little awkward for the two of them. "I can't believe it..." Laurel says.

"Yeah. After all these years when we thought we were safe, we never were. I guess we never will be." Tamani says glumly.

"Don't think negative." Laurel stared at her husband who still looked close to 20.

Tamani looked into her eyes and smiled.

"One day all of this will be over," Laurel continued.

Tamani and Laurel stopped walking in the middle of the road and their lips met.

"We should keep going," Tamani said.

Laurel nodded and her feet picked up their original pace.

Eventually they were at the house next to 8192.

"Stay here," Tamani instructed in a whisper.

"No, I'm coming with you." Laurel responded.

"I don't want you to get hurt. Please stay here." Tamani said.

Laurel shook her head no. Tamani sighed. "I suppose that when I go in there, you'll follow nevertheless."

Before entering, Tamani whispered to Laurel, "If I get hurt, leave me and warn the others. Take care of them. I don't think that you can return to Avalon. Marion is probably in control there. If I die, go back to the children and get as far away as you can. "

"I'm not going to leave you," Laurel says.

Tamani sighed, "Laurel do it for the children." He looked into her light green eyes. "Besides, I'm going to do my best to return. Don't worry... Just stay back and let me fight."

"I want to help." Laurel hissed back.

"Laurel..." He looks into her eyes, and then sighs as he sees he won't change her mind. "Fine."
