after History, the lunch bell rang. i was relieved because i was starving and my stomach felt like it was dead, so i needed to eat. i went to my locker and got my lunch out.
"so, did he talk to you?" i heard a voice saying to someone else.
"yeah, but it was mostly Sadie that was talking to him. about Jonah."
oh, now i know who they are. i turned around.
"Daniel?" i asked, closing my locker.
Emma and Maddie nodded.
"i'm not surprised." i said, walking to the cafeteria with them.
"same with me when you're talking about Jonah." Emma laughed.
i sighed.
"what?" Emma asked.
"nothing. can't i sigh?" i laughed.
"yeah. i just thought that you were-"
"thinking about Jonah?" i finished her sentence. Emma nodded.
"kind of. it's just that school's so different without him. it's so...quiet. and i'm not used to silence."
Maddie giggled. "true."
just then we all felt a big push behind us, and the next thing we knew, Zach was walking in between Emma and i.
"Zach!" we all yelled at the same time.
"what?" he put his arms up.
"you scared us!" i said.
"oh, and you don't scare me?"
"what the- how do i scare you?" i laughed.
"oh, you do." he said in an annoying way.
"okay." i rolled my eyes. then i felt another push. then the curly haired boy was walking beside me.
"do you guys not know how to walk properly?"
"i learned from Zach." Jack said.
"hey!" Zach exclaimed.
"guys, calm down." Daniel said behind us.
"see, Daniel and Corbyn are the only normal ones here." Emma said.
"hey, thanks." Corbyn said.
Emma, Maddie, and i sat down on our side of the lunch table while the boys sat down on their side.
"so, there's gonna be another week of silence." Zach said.
"actually, i just realized there won't be. because you're here." i said to him. everyone started laughing. Corbyn reached his hand across the table and i high-fived it.
"yeah, this is why i'm scared of you. cuz you're mean." Zach fake frowned.
"it's okay son." Jack patted his shoulder.
"aww." everyone said.
"hey, wanna play truth or dare again?" Corbyn asked.
"i don't kn-"
"YES!" Zach yelled. "Jack, truth or dare?"
"wait, what? we've started already?" i said.
"dare."
"okay, i dare you to hit your head on the pole outside."
"aren't you supposed to be the one doing that, Zach?" Corbyn asked.
"omg yes that's so true."
"what?" Emma asked.
"have you not seen their Instagram stories?" i asked.
"i saw the video of Jack doing it." she laughed.
"okay, guys. let's do this." Jack gestured for us to follow him outside.
"i have to get this on video." Daniel took his phone out.
Jack went outside the doors and stood beside the pole. Daniel held his phone up.
"i've discovered something!" Jack said. then he ran and hit his head on the pole. everyone started laughing, then of course, Zach did the same.
"you guys are so dumb." i laughed.
"i'm sending this to Jonah." Daniel said, laughing.
Jack got up and helped Zach up.
"are you guys okay?" i asked.
"uh, yeah. my head just hurts." Zach said, rubbing it.
"oh, oh. Jonah replied. he said 'you guys should stop damaging your brain. you'll become even dumber'." Daniel said.
"did he actually?!?" i started laughing.
"oh, here. i'll tell him you miss him a lot." Jack grabbed Daniel's phone.
"Jack! stop! come back here!" i ran towards him but he ran away. "Daniel! get your phone from him!"
Zach stood there laughing while Daniel was trying to get his phone back from Jack. Jack finally stopped. he handed Daniel's phone back.
"thank you." i rolled my eyes.
"for what? i sent it." he smirked.
"haha you can unsend it!" i said.
"well, he's already seen it." he said.
i flipped him off and then went back to our table while i heard everyone laughing behind me.
"c'mon guys our lunch is getting cold." i said.
"hey Sadie stop being mean to my dad." Zach said.
"what the hell?" i laughed. i heard my phone buzzing in my jean pocket. i got it out and looked at the screen.
