Maddie, Emma, and i walked to the cafeteria and sat where we usually sit. on one side sits Jonah, Corbyn, Daniel, Jack, and Zach. beside them there's Finn, Noah, and Jack G. on the other side is, me, Emma, Maddie, Millie, and Lilia.
"hey y'all." i said as i sat down. everyone else said hi back.
i noticed Jack looking at me, because of the thing that Emma wrote. i made a face at him, telling him not to tell Jonah.
"so what'd you get on the history quiz Sadie?" Jonah asked.
"i don't even know, he didn't tell anyone."
"oh, yeah."
there's this dumb thing that all the boys do at lunch. they play a dumb game of truth or dare where they say stuff to the other tables, or to the teachers or the lunch lady or they have to yell or sing. sometimes it's funny, but it's starting to get old.
"so Daniel, truth or dare?" Zach asked Daniel
"truth."
"if you could kiss one girl at this table, who'd it be?"
the girls laughed. we all stood up.
except for Emma.
"probably the one girl who's sitting at this table." he laughed.
Emma blushed.
"Emma, you're so dumb. this is just a game." i made fun of her.
"okay, truth or dare Sadie?
"dare." i love doing dares.
"i dare you to compliment Jonah." she said quietly.
"f you." i said to her.
i was trying to think of what to say.
"Jonah, your hair looks good today." i told him.
all the boys went "oooooooo" and i told them to shut up.
the table went quiet, and Jonah's cheeks went pink.
"thanks." he said, smiling.
"Jack, truth or dare?" Lilia asked him.
"dare." he said.
"OH! i got a good one," Corbyn said. "i dare you to yell 'jeepers nuts' out loud."
that was one of Jack's catchphrases.
"ok." he stood up and yelled.
"JEEPERS NUTS!"
half of the cafeteria went quiet and he fell back into his seat and all the boys started cracking up, including him. the girls laughed too, but not as much as the boys.
"Finn, truth or dare?" i asked Finn, who was sitting across from Millie.
"truth."
"is Fack real?" i asked.
everyone laughed.
"sure." he said. and he kissed Jack G. on his head.
everyone said "ooo" again.
"Jonah, truth or dare?" Jack asked.
i sat there, praying that he wouldn't pick dare, because Jack was probably going to say something about us.
but he did.
Jack leaned over and whispered something into Jonah's ears. Jonah looked at me and nodded.
i wondered what was going to happen next.
