I wanted to turn around and run back to Blake, but when I looked back, he was gone. He probably went back to whoever Madison was.
I bet she was beautiful. Probably had long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She probably looked like Barbie. The worst part is that she was probably nice and didn't have an air about her that screamed 'I've been used'. She probably had parents that loved her and would visit her if she ever became comatose. She probably had guys all over her. She was probably smart. Before I could rethink what I was doing, I dialed Alek.
I heard a grunt instead of a 'hello', but I'd take what I could get.
"Can you pick me up?"
"Where are you?"
"Um, by a bus station a few blocks from my house?" I guessed.
I heard Alek sigh. "Yeah, I'm on my way. I'll see you soon." The line went dead and I waited to hear the rev of Alek's motorcycle.
When he arrived, he held out a helmet for me and I put it on and snapped it beneath my chin. I threw one leg over the side of the bike and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Don't take me back home please." I had to raise my voice to be heard over the engine. Alek nodded and started driving away from my house. I'm pretty sure that we were going to his house, but I wasn't positive. I'd never been to his house, not even when we had dated all that time ago. Alek parked his motorcycle inside a single car garage and I swung my leg over the side, unsnapped the helmet and set it on the back seat.
His house was smaller than the houses in my neighborhood, but it was still really nice. He didn't turn a lot of lights, so I wasn't able to see the details. Alek tugged me into the bedroom.
"You can sleep in here, I'll take the couch." He was pulling blankets off of a shelf in his closet and grabbed a pillow from the bed.
"Actually..." Alek looked at me as he stood in the doorway.
"Could you sleep in here? With me?" I hated how weak my voice sounded. He shifted uncomfortably and opened his mouth.
"I don't think that's a good idea, beautiful. I want to, you know I do. But after last time I did something when you weren't really in control of yourself..." His voice trailed off and I realized he was right.
"Yeah, you're right."
"Do you wanna talk about it?" he shifted his weight to his right foot and looked down at the blankets draped over his arm.
"I want to, but I don't think I'll be able to without crying right now."
Alek looked up to face me. "He shouldn't make you cry."
"He's not the only one. You did," I pointed out.
"And I'd take it back if I could."
I smiled sadly, crawled underneath the covers and set my head on the pillows. He turned to walk out of the room, his hand hovering over the light switch.
"Alek?"
"Yes, beautiful?"
"This is going to sound weird, but did you mean what you said? About wanting to marry me someday?"
"I'd marry you now if you gave me the opportunity." I smiled at the words, but doubted them at the same time.
"Good night, Alek."
"Good night." And quietly, so quietly, I hear him say, "I missed you so much, beautiful."

When I woke up, my eyes fluttered open, catching small glimpses of an unfamiliar nightstand with an unfamiliar lamp resting on top and started to panic. I opened my eyes wider and looked around my room, but then realized it wasn't my room.
