There were shouts of surprise and there were cheers and then I finally realized what was going on.

Blake was on top of Alek throwing too many punches and Alek was struggling to push him off. I wasn't about to yell for them to stop because I knew that I'd look like an idiot.

Before I knew it, Blake and Alek had switched positions and now Blake was the one who was taking the beating. I hadn't been attending Greenwell Academny for a long time, but I'm pretty sure that this was the nastiest fight they've ever had.

I heard police sirens and the group scattered but Blake and Alek continued beating each other. I just stood to the side of the brawl and waited for the police to pull the boys off of each other.

Not even the cops could separate the fight.

"STOP!" I screamed. Both boys looked at me with their bloody faces and the officers took that opportunity to pull them to opposite ends of the sidewalk.

They were going to get into so much trouble.

The officers handcuffed both Alek and Blake and pushed them into different vehicles.

"Excuse me ma'am," an officer said to me.

"Yeah?"

"Were you here for the whole fight?"

"Before, during and after."

"Alright, well we should probably bring you in for questioning. Are you willing to?"

I nodded. "Yeah, of course." I started to walk to my car, but then I remembered that Alek had drove me today just as he had for the past week or so.

"Wait! Could I get a ride? One of those guys drove me here today," I asked. The officer nodded and told me that I could choose who I wanted to ride with.

I opened the door to the cop car that Blake was in and sat down next to him, shutting the door behind me.

"Raelene..."

"Don't talk to me," I snapped.

"Raelene please..."

"Don't make me get into Alek's car." I shouldn't have said that but I didn't know how else he would stop talking. I pulled the seat belt down over my shoulder and snapped in into place.

I twisted a little in my seat to look at his face. He already had a black eye and his nose and lips were bleeding and swollen.

"Really?" I asked in disbelief. Blake stayed silent and wouldn't meet my eyes.

"You can talk now."

"Raelene, did he hit you? Please tell me." Blake's voice was pleading.

I looked away from him and out the window. The car was pulling out of the school's parking lot and I heard Blake swear.

"Raelene Ammerman, tell me right now if he laid a finger on you," he demanded.

"Yes! Okay? Yes, he hit me but he didn't mean to!" I shouted, forgetting that there was a police officer was right in front of us.

"His hand bruised your face like that? It cut it up?" he whispered angrily.

"I fell and my cheek hit the wall and the wall bruised and cut it up, okay?"
