Today being Saturday i had gotten up very early, washed the clothes, ironed and cooked some food for the whole family. I was in the temple busy putting some flowers and lighting the incense in the tray when i saw Mahi creeping out of her room
I hid behind the wall trying to see where she was going.
Carefully checking if anyone was stalking her, she quickly dashed out.
'I wonder where she seems to be heading this early"
Mahi, Mahi, called mum dashing downstairs with the prayer tray.
Seeking her blessings i collected my own part of the offering.
"Bless you my dear, have you seen Mahi this morning? She asked with a bit of hurt in her voice.
'Yes, she just left a couple of hours ago"
'Ok when she's back give her this envelope. I'm running late i have to go make preparation with the wedding planner"
'Yes mum"
Walking up with the envelope i immediately put it in the wardrobe and headed to the dressing table to apply the vermilion on my forehead.
Just as i was applying it, Kunj suddenly came out of the dressing room with only his towel wrapped across his waist.
I didn't take notice of his presence as i was deeply lost in what i was doing. Firmly covering the small bottle i decided to pack my hair and remembering what Kunj said about my hair style, i let it down smiling to myself.
Turning round i met him standing and staring at me with his arms crisscrossed.
Covering my hair with my scarf i immediately bent my head down trying to seek his blessings.
Bless you my dear. He replied. I did smile Abit and he caught me doing that.
'What is funny? He asked bending down to look at my face.
Nothing i replied walking to the wardrobe to pick out his clothe.
"You know you don't have to be shy around me'
Am not shy kunj am just my normal self. And tell me why i should be shy around you.
Picking up the big duve i made my way towards the door but was interrupted by kunj who wrapped his hand around my waist pulling me to him.

Slowly raising my head to meet his gaze we were suddenly interrupted by Mahi who held the door wide open with a surprised look on her face.
'Ooh bhai you're getting all too
romantic with your wife already? Teased Mahi coming in immediately.
Kunj got embarrassed and was shy too.
No need to say anything. I should leave you two to continue your thing you know? She said closing the door immediately.
That stupid Mahi of a girl muttered kunj getting into the dressing room immediately.
I just stood there laughing.
Somehow mum was right about kunj, he does have mood swing atimes.
Carefully placing the offering tray in the temple. I slowly walked down heading for where i kept my sandals.
'Hey there! came the voice which immediately made me turn to see who was trying to get to me.
"It's you again i shouted facing him one on one.'
"What do you want huh?
"Look i noticed i behaved badly last time and i came to say am sorry'.
"You're sorry i guess. I asked walking to the car.
'Yes i am."' Please."
Stopping dead track on the spot i turned back and motioned to him to come forward.
"I see you have something on your mind. What is it?

Just then i get a call from mum .
Look i have to go now, maybe you can come over here's my address i bet Mahi will be so happy seeing you at home.

Yes yes hang the lights here, hey you move it a bit further. Yes yes
Mum you called for me, sorry i couldn't get all the flowers you asked me to get.
No need my dear. The wedding date has being set and Mahi suitors will be here anyminute. Why dont you go check on her for me.

'How can i be pregnant, curse you karan how could you do this to me"
What did karan do? I asked as i stood at the door looking at Mahi who was in a total mess.
She seemed afraid and surprised at seeing me at first.

Walking in quietly i immediately took my seat on her bed and took time to study Mahi properly.

Yes you should definitely go get me that tea Sahiba. She said leading me out of the room.
I was so lost in my thoughts about what Mahi said about being pregnant when i accidentally missed a step and was about falling when someone held on to me.
Closing my eyes shut and waiting for the pain to kick in but it didnt.
'Seriously Sahiba you should be careful not to hurt yourself" said kunj releasing me from his hard grip before walking out immediately.

"She should be upstairs getting ready for the engagement ceremony'. Come in and have some holy offerings.
Yes let's have some" said Rajesh leading the ladies in as they all took part in handing the offering to one another.

Taking a look at mother who seemed preoccupied with the servants i decided to go get the henna ready.
Getting into the store room i found the door wide open and immediately took the henna tray heading for the living room when i overheard Mahi talking to someone
Mahi here? I asked myself as i slowly walked to the door trying to hear what she was saying and who she was actually talking to.
Karan please go away from here and do not cause more trouble than you have already caused.

Just go away from my life, in two days time i'll be married and i do not want you appearing in my life anymore.

"Love! well i don't karan now go away from here before my mum sees you' said Mahi getting inside the kitchen.
At hearing her approaching footstep i immediately hid behind the door and immediately came out heading for the living room.
Setting the tray on the table i decided to go check on the food when mum suddenly called on me requesting for Mahi.
She's in her room getting dressed. She should be down very soon.

The bride is still no where to be found Deveeka?

But there's a lot to be done here, said mum lighting the incense.

Taking a look at the saree on the bed i sat down thinking about all what the doctor said about terminating the pregnancy.
I was snapped out of my imagination by the opening of the door and began applying my makeup.
Mahi what's taking so long? Asked mum helping me to put on my necklace.
Look at you looking all beautiful and ..... then she breaks down crying her eyes out.
'I didn't believe this day will ever come when i'll be sending my daughter off to be married into another family"
Mum i don't want to get married again i said hugging her.
No don't say that my dear. It's everymothers pride to see their daughters getting married. Said mum wearing the bangles for me.
Your in-laws gifted these beautiful pindari bangles said mum admiring them.
Mum i want to tell you something i've kept away from you. You can scold or don't talk to me.
No my dear i trust my daughter won't bring shame up on this family said mum bodly.
Mum i've made a big mistake and ... just then Sahiba walks in holding the veil in her hands.
You can tell me all about it later dear, now it's time to go see your guest downstairs. Said mum putting the veil on my face.

Mum i know you'd feel bad after hearing what am going to disclose to you. Am sorry i couldn't be the best daughter you've always wanted me to be. I made a big mistake mum and i know you're mad at me, but don't keep me in the dark or send me away mum. I think the lord wants to punish me for my sins.
Mum am pregnant i said before pausing the recorder as i played the CD again and again. Satisfied with my confessions i decided to keep the CD in my mum's bedroom before joining her once again as we slowly walked downstairs heading to go get my henna done.
Ooh i almost forgot something why dont you girls carry on i'll be right back said mum heading towards her room.

As she left me with Sahiba i began to think about what she'll end up saying or doing to me.  It was all my fault, i pushed myself on karan that night and ended up carrying my mistake. I shouldn't have gone clubbing that night.
