There was no place like home, getting up quietly i slowly walked to the window to open it up. The house felt strange but i had to deal with it now.
Getting downstairs i met mother-in-law busy preparing food for the whole family.
'Morning mum" i greeted seeking her blessings immediately.
"Bless you my child" she replied smiling warmly at me.
'How are you today? She asked holding me on my shoulder.
"Am very fine mum and you?
'Always happy as you can see my child" she replied shaking her head happily.
Helping her to prepare the food i got to know her more and i was already loving her like my mum.
"You know Sahiba, my daughter Mahi is coming home after a long stay in london, so i've specially cooked all her favourite meal'. She replied smiling happily.
Taking a look at her i could see the happiness in her eyes. A mother sure do loves her child and would go to any extent to make sure her child is happy.
"Mum i'll also go to the temple and pray to god that Mahi comes home safe and sound.'
With that we both laughed it off and got ourselves busy once more.
Soon everyone came downstairs to eat and looking round the table i was surprised that kunj was not at the dinning table.
"Look mum juliet is looking for her Romeo' teased pinky and everyone started laughing.
"It just yesterday and they're acting like two lover birds in a love triangle'. teased uncle Mahal.
"Don't mind her Sahiba go get your Romeo' teased mother-in-law again.
Smiling shyly to myself i slowly dashed upstairs hoping to find him, but all i get is a piece of paper lying on the bed
Had some important business this morning
Kunj.
Remembering he had nothing last night i decided to branch over to his work place while visiting the temple.
Getting outside i found pintu busy changing the tires.
"Look pintu i have to go give kunj this food, please will you take me there?
'Yes mam, just give me a minute."

"Madam you are so kind to think about young master.'
"What do you mean?
"Well he's always mad at everyone and spends most of his time in his study room'. I bet you can change him for once.
"Ok we are here madam'. He said stopping the car as i slowly glanced at the big office with the name 'SINGHS VENTURES"
"Okay you wait here and i'll go give him this food.' I said as i slowly got out of the car heading for the door.
Walking over to the receptionist i introduced myself and was later ushered upstairs to where a group of her colleagues were hovering around me.
"Choumpa who's this goddess you've brought today' Asked one of the guys.
I noticed her mood changed instantly.
"Will you guys keep it low, if you guys knew who she is you won't be blabbing about. She shouted immediately. She's the boss wife.'
At hearing that they all began to apologize for their deeds.
"Sorry mam, they can be a pain in the back atimes' She apologized smiling weakly as we approached kunj office.
I could clearly see how busy and concerned he was towards his work.
"I'll take my leave now mam.' Said Choumpa existing the premises immediately.
Knocking carefully on the door he requested i come in not even looking up to see who it was.
Walking in slowly i made my way towards his desk and stood there waiting for him to look up.
"Uh huh, what is it? He asked not taking his eye off the computer.
"Since you had no breakfast this morning, you know mother asked that i bring you some incase you're hungry.'
'Ok just drop it there on the table and take your leave" he said still focused on his laptop.
Slowly placing the flask on the table i slowly walked out of his office and dashed to the car.
Getting in i slowly looked to his office and found him staring. At seeing me he immediately left.

Getting to the temple i slowly took off my shoes and rang the bell with one hand while i held the offering tray with the other. Closing my eyes i slowly prayed in my heart.
Dear god today i have come to pray for my family happiness. You know i never wanted this marriage and am still not sure i'll be able to perform my duties.
god i ask for protection, wisdom and understanding among every member of the family. And also concerning kunj, please change him and bring Mahi home safe and sound.
Carefully putting on my slippers i slowly got in to the car and pintu had the car once again on the road.
"Mam it seems there's a big traffic down the road' said pintu stopping the car as he went to see what was causing the problem.
I also stepped put and was shocked to see some group of guys pestering a young girl. From her dressing she looked like someone of high class.
No one seemed to help the girl as everyone was busy enjoying the scene.
"Leave me you're hurting me karan' cried the poor girl continuously as she tried to free her self from the guy holding her roughly.
"You thought you could escape me by coming to mumbia huh?
"Look no one is here to save you, shout all you want but baby no one is going to save you', he said dragging her forcefully to the car.
"How dare you? i bluttered out holding unto the girls hand as i dragged her back with full force
"Who are you?, and what's your business with her?. He asked getting irritated as he stepped closer to where i was standing.
"Look guys a girl trying to scare us" ' Ooh am scared kyu?(what) He teased laughing.
Somehow my anger got the best of me and i slapped him right on his face.
"A girl huh, now i'll teach you some manners you stupid boy'. "You think she's a toy to play with?. Indian girls all suffer cause they have no say in the society. Today you have stepped on the tigress tail and i won't spare you i shouted as i immediately took my slippers and started hitting him.
"You rascal', "you good for nothing, today you might have succeeded but today I'll break all your wings."
The others ran away leaving me to teach their leader a lesson.
"Now get out of here' i shouted at him, and immediately he took to his heels leaving the crowd to laugh after his stupid act.
"You have to be strong, the almighty didn't give you these hands to apply henna and polish your nails'. "Use it as a weapon i spat out getting into the car and watched as she got into hers'.

If not for that lady i won't be able to see the light of the day again. Curse you petty thievs i regret ever meeting you in my life.
Taking my phone out i tried calling home but the line was busy.
'Driver please take me home."

"Mahi is here, Mahi is here' shouted choumpa running down the never ending stairs.
Getting downstairs after a long walk round the stairs i came face to face with the same girl i met outside the temple.
You! we both chorused pointing fingers at each other.
'Mahi this is Sahiba your new sister inlaw"
It's you again and again you're my bhai wife. Said Mahi coming forward to give me a hug.
"I see you two already know each other, how is that possible?asked mum looking confused.
"Mum she helped me to deal with some bad boys harassing me today'.
"Thank you Sahiba my dear'.
"No need mum, i did what was right and it's also my responsibility to look after my loved ones' i replied with a bright smile on my face.
'Where's bhai? He should be home by now mum.
"Yeah kunj is still dedicated to his work am sure he'll be back very soon".
'Come let's go upstairs first then you can tell me more about London".
'Okay mum"
