The weather seemed abit cold out here in Lahore. A beautiful city too. It was different from Mumbai. We were all seated in the car as we were heading for our new home.
Pinky kept on talking non stop and her stories we're becoming so boring to everyone's ear.
Picking out my headphone I slowly placed it on my ears and tried to sleep a bit.

Hey pinky aren't You tired of talking. The stories are becoming to bored to my ears
Yes Yes it is pinky chorused everyone.
Ooh no. Am hungry whined pinky.
Always hungry is there a food monster in your belly. Huh? Asked aunt Bani.
No mum I just want to eat something.

We are here already everyone said Kunj and Karan helping us all out of the car.
It was a beautiful house which had a swimming pool lined around.
I've never been to such a place said aunt Bani picking up her phone as she began to post online her new house.
Soon the servants all came out to Carr our luggages as we all tagged along.
We all decided to go out for dinner as we didn't want to celebrate at home.

Getting to the hotel. We all booked our orders and waited over for our foods to be served.
Soon I started feeling A bit dizzy and excused myself to go use the bathroom.
Just as I was washing my hands someone sneaked behind me and covered my mouth.

You here, what are you doing here? He asked tightening his grip on my wrist.
I should be asking what are you doing here yourself. He asked laughing scornfully.
So I guess your new husband brought you here right.
What husband are you talking about I asked trying to free myself from his strong grip.
Don't you pretend you know nothing about what am saying. He barked pulling my hair roughly.

But am sorry that won't be necessary barked someone. Looking at the direction where the voice was coming from I found Karan standing by the door. His eyes bllodshot with anger and his fist ready to pounce on Sahel.
Didn't I tell you that if you try to harm her I'll kill you. Huh asked Karan as he loosened Sahel grip on my wrist. Seeing the blood oozing from my wrist he immediately sent a quick punch making Sahel fall to the ground.
How dare you? Asked Karan as he began to pounce on sahel hitting him everywhere possible.
Gaining a hold of myself I began to pounce on him with my slippers as well.
How dare you try to hit me you idiot. I was so blind to see that you never loved me. Only to ruin me and my family. I kept on saying as I kept on hitting him.
Stop it Mahi. Leave him pleaded Karan as we both exited the washroom.

You should have let me hit him so hard Karan. Why did he behave so badly to me. I cried turning my back on him.
Look Mahi I admit you're going through a rough time now. But please calm down. What if we end up killing him. Or do you want to go to jail. Certainly not. Thank God you're okay. Now let's go treat your injury. Look it's bleeding he said as he immediately took me to the washroom to wash it off alittle.

I wonder where Karan is now. Look the food is here and we're all waiting. How long does it takes someone to go to the bathroom. Yes I should go take a look. Maybe he's admiring himself in the mirror again. Yes momma will teach your papa not to let her get hungry again I said as I made for the washroom.

Yes it does. But I think we should leave it for now Karan. Look I'll use the napkin here to tie it and look my saree can cover it also I pleaded trying to get my wrist off his hand.

Looking at him I began to cry silently. He is so caring. How fortunate Mahi is lucky to have him by her side.
Look it's all done. Now let's go and meet the other he said as we both walked out of the washroom heading for the dinning section where everyone was waiting.

Seeing how close Karan was with Mahi stopped me dead track. Why was she looking at him that way. And why are they holding hands. Getting angry I immediately  left heading for the dinner.

Hey Aunt Mahi. Where are they asked pinky standing up. Am so hungry and I can eat this whole place if Bhai and aunt G doesn't return soon.
They're coming pinky. I said trying to smile A bit.
Soon they both appeared smiling to each other.
Ooh no Mahi. What Happened to your wrist asked aunt Bani standing up to examine it.

I cut myself while trying to get the soap cut in Mahi smiling. No worries am all fine now let's all eat.
Finally chorused everyone as we all began to eat. The food was really nice as everyone ate happily. I was brooding on what I was going to do to Karan afterwards as I kept eating smiling evily at him at the same time.

Now why is she smiling all of a sudden. I hope she's not planning anything evil again. How can she be this happy or did she find out that her perfume was sprayed by me. Oh Lord please save me from this evil wife of mine I prayed in my mind as I kept eating still looking at her.

By the time we got home everyone was exhausted so we all decided to go to bed early.
Splashing some water on my face I quickly oiled my hair and brushed it one last time before perming it. Putting on my shower cap I exited the room where I met Kunj busy reading a book.
Taking my slippers off I slowly climbed on the bed as I struggled to adjust the pillow.
I knew I saw a side grin from him, but I chose to ignore him.

Hmm. Yeah he answered immediately dropping the book as he kept waiting for me to say something.
Do you think we made the right choice by coming here. I asked still staring at the ceiling.
Yeah. What's wrong? He asked taking off his reading glasses.
Am having some bad thoughts about this like our family is about to experience some bad happening. I said sitting up to face him.
Bad happening as in how? He asked as he stared evenly into my eyes
I feel something bad is about to happen. Like they're trying to hurt someone in our family.
You know what I don't believe in such ideas and thoughts. Now let's go to sleep. Tomorrow is another day.
But Kunj seriously I've been having these dreams.
Uuh uuh. No more let's go to bed. He said as he switched off the lamp.

Let's go to bed Mahi. I pleaded the moment I saw her still staring out the window.
Look am sorry i kept you waiting all through. Please am sorry I begged still holding my ears . Turning with full speed she immediately throws something white on my face. And burst into laughter again.
Hey what's is that for I asked as I tried to brush the powder off.
That's for making us wait for so long. She replied climbing into bed.
I'd get you for this I replied as I immediately walked into the bathroom to go wash up.
Climbing into bed I slowly ran my fingers through her bare back making her shudder.
What are you doing Karan she asked pushing me away.
Let say I'm trying to get intimate with my wife.
You should be ashamed of yourself Karan. It's late already. So let's go to bed and besides it's cold and I'd be sleeping in these arms she said as she slowly rolled over.
Yeah baby I replied kissing her forehead.
Running my hands on her bare stomach I smiled happily.
I was going to be a father very soon.
Looking out the window I could see the stars. And beside it was Mahi face. Smiling to myself I looked at her and found her sleeping already. Closing my eyes I just let the sleep take me away.
