Hoooh Boy...

We shall call this... the timeskip chapter. Simply because I had a writer's block and didn't know how to continue this.

Another thing.

Contrats to me for ALMOST finishing this book! Yes! This means that the end is near.

Originally I was going for 50 chapters, however it's probably going to extend past that. Which is both good for me and you guys.

End of note 😊//

Another note, because I wrote the first before losing inspiration...

The fact that I've written this much is beyond what I believe I could do.

So my goal is still in sight, but it will take a while.

Enjoy.

Lesson two was tomorrow. And, as the same with lesson one, Amelia didn’t inform Danika of what they’d be doing. This seemed, trivial in a way. Danika didn’t want of know what unnatural abilities she had. However Amelia convinced her otherwise somehow. She didn’t know how, it was on the tip of her tongue though.

So as of currently Danika sat on the long sofa within the leisure floor, the television on and the channel being some sort of historical documentary. She wasn’t paying attention entirely, and would be confused when she tuned back into reality.

Because her mind was pondering about what was out in space.

She didn’t come from earth. The human that they extracted the dna came from earth though, she didn’t.

Who was the girl they abducted? How long ago was it? Maybe Amelia would know, but maybe Amelia wouldn’t tell yet.

She despised this.

“Are you okay?”

Steve Rogers walked around and in front of the sofa, and then sat beside her. Danika sunk a little when extra weight was partially distributed onto the cushion she sat upon, so she straightened herself up for better comfort.

It was night, the others were asleep. Danika was in her new pyjamas, pink fluffy pants with a soft white longsleeve shirt. Upon her feet were unicorn slippers. The touch of holo was necessary.

Danika finally nods and looked at Steve.

“Why are up at this time?” She asked. He wore a white singlet and striped pyjama pants. Dull grey socks were on his feet.

“Couldn’t sleep. You?” Danika chuckled at this. Since when did Steve have trouble with sleep?

“I suppose. That and I haven’t went to bed yet.” She smiled. “I guess my mind is a little pre-occupied with other things.”

Danika sighed and for the first time since she sat down, let her head sit back on the cushions of the sofa.

Silence lingered for a moment. Danika could hear the cars from outside down below pass by. A muffled rush, whilst the lights of the city that never slept painted the view before her.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Steve finally asked.

“I don’t know where to begin.” She whispered. Danika wasn’t one to express her thoughts when something troubled her. “I guess its many things. With what I am, this predicament I am in, Ultron…” She didn’t finish her sentence. Danika hadn’t thought about him for a while. She assumed it was because of what was happening.

"Sometimes, I just wonder how it all started... and why." Danika sighed. "My life seemed perfectly normal until that afternoon. Then it just all turned to shit." Danika gasped and covered her mouth.

"Fuck I'm sorry I swore!" Then she groaned. "Not again."

Steve just chuckled. "Don't worry about that." He insisted.

"Hooooh boy..." She grumbled and she planted her face in her palms. "I hate my life."

"Your life can't be that bad." He smirked.

"It really feels like it though." She muttered. Steve shook his head with a smile.

"How about this. After your lesson with Amelia tomorrow, I'll take you out for lunch. My shout, sounds good?"

"Why?"

"To get your mind off things." He shrugged. "I think you could benefit from it."

"Is there another reason behind it?" Danika asked as she glanced at Steve. Whatever it was, Steve just hid it behind a smirk.

A few seconds past as she thought about it. With a small yawn, she nod her head in acceptance.

"Sure, I'll accept this offer."

-

Danika walked back to her bedroom in silence. Steve had offered to escort her, but then a science documentary of large underground crystals came up, so she politely declined the offer to become infatuated with the remarkable gems she'd never be able to see personally.

So with square eyes and a terrible sense of direction, Danika slowly and eventually found her rightful bed. It felt like a cloud as she crashed into the lush mattress and gained a whole new level of satisfaction. She rolled over onto her back, her view towards the ceiling and a yawn creeping up her throat.

Danika closed her eyes and sighed, her body's weight no longer heavy, and sweet silence. Slowly, she was being lulled into sleep by the comfortable darkness that beckoned her...

Until she opened her eyes, paralysed from neck down.

She wasn't able to move her limbs. How? Was she experiencing sleep paralysis? No, her chest didn't feel heavy. It always did, the only sign of what was going on.

Her heart raced as suddenly she felt as if she was suffocating.

Something was choking her.

Her body suddenly flared in pain. She tried to scream, not only to block out the pain but to alert someone. But nothing came out, it was like something constricted her vocal cords...

A numbing liquid was poured down her throat, she choked, tried to close her mouth, but someone kept it open with a forceful grip.

Her eyes lost sight of everything. The moonlight that seeped from behind the curtains disappeared, the barely visible outlines of furniture blended to nothing. She couldn't see.

She couldn't see.

She couldn't move.

She couldn't feel anything.

And she hoped that the Sun would rise again soon.
