Why Me?

chapter 10

Mia POV

"Are you for real mom?" I looked at her in disbelieve. Seeing me in this state, she got up and hug me from behind.

"I'm sorry Mia. I thought that if you have to know the truth about it, it will be now. After all July is coming. So I thought before you do something bad, like 5 years ago without knowing anything it's better for me to tell you. You know I do these things because I lo---"

I slapped her hand away. I look at her with somehow an angry and disgusted look at her.
"What? Love me? Hah, such a nice joke 'mom'!" then I got up from my seat and was about to reach the doorknob when my mom murmured something.

I didn't quite heard it but its somehow makes me feel weak. I dropped on the floor using the door as my support. I was sweating and my vision were blurry. I tried hard to turn my head and when I do I saw my mom suddenly changed.

Her eyes were red, her teeth suddenly became longer and longer as if a wolf's fangs, her body started to grow so big that it touched the ceiling. Her nail were as the same as a witches nail. And that face! It wasn't my mom's face anymore. It turned into something else. Something like in my dream.

I was petrified. Not wanting to get closed to that hideous thing I tried to turn the doorknob but I can't. I felt too weak to open it. That thing started to laugh at me with its booming voice.

"My my master, you have become such a naughty child didn't you? You know you shouldn't have ran away from us like last time. We really miss you don't you know? After you ran away from us, Mistress became really angry and killed half of us. Don't you feel sorry?" it said while it began to multiple more and more.

Feeling so weak, I dragged myself away from the door because I know it's useless to try opening the door. I managed to drag myself just a little bit and I leaned on the wall. I wished that thing didn't move but I was wrong. All of them started to move towards me saying kill the master over and over again.

"This going to be the end of me."
I closed my eyes because of exhaustion and suddenly I felt vibrations. A big one. I opened my eyes and I saw the door was broken into pieces.

Before I knew it, there was a wall created in front of me and fire was blazing inside the room. The shrieks and the howling of those things rang inside my ears.
"Master,how could you do this to us?! We'll have our revenge Master!!"

And poof they were gone. It became quiet for a moment. The wall in front of me slowly crumbled into tiny pieces of rock and the blazing fire began to fade. I tried to get up but I was too tired I slumped back on the floor. I don't even know why I feel so exhausted. Because of that, I closed my eyes for a bit to ease my mind. Then, I felt someone grabbed my shoulders and started shouting my name.

I opened them and saw Victor in front of me and behind him were Alex, Dylan and Violet. Oh now I know that they are the one who saved me just now. I smiled at them.

"Guys, what are you---" I didn't finish my line yet when suddenly I was pulled into a hug. I was shocked cause it was Victor who is hugging me now.
"You could have at least shout for help,can't you,dummy?" as he said that he hugged me even tighter.

"Victor?" I called his name in a very weak voice. "How did you know I was in trouble?" then Victor slowly pulls away from me and stare at me. Then he looks at Dylan.

"Well yeah it was like this. The moment you left, the teacher kept staring at you until you're gone. Then this eagle-eyed girl saw a bug behind the teachers neck." he said pointing to Violet. Violet just roll her eyes from him.

"That is when we realized that you might be in trouble. But to get out from that teacher's class is like asking and audience with a king. So to look like we really need to go out we asked someone to act as the sick person. And that guy was the one who voluntered to be that."
Then I turned to Victor. And smiled cause I thought it would be funny for a person to act like he doesn't care about the world acted like a sick person.
