Why Me?

Chapter 11

Mia POV

"Hello?! " I woke up and saw darkness surrounded me. I started to walk aimlessly. It was so dark that I could not even see my hands. Suddenly I saw a speck of light from afar. As fast as the wind, I ran to the light hoping it would get me out of this darkness.

As I ran closer to it, the light became bigger and bigger until my eyes can't bear the brightness and I just have to close my eyes. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes and I couldn't help myself but amazed with the view I was given.

There was lush greenery all over the place, the wind was blowing so gently, dragons and fairies were flying happily and laughing with such small voices. Gnomes are working and some of them are having tea. All of them are so happy that I wish I could have that.

'Well it wouldn't be such a bad thing to take a stroll around. I'll go to the gnomes. 'I was about to step forward when suddenly a girl ran pass me. The girl ran to her mother who was waiting for her in front of their house. The girl looks so innocent and pure when she laughs.

I smiled to myself. But just as I turned my head around, there was a sound of screaming and crying in pain. The ground shook so much that I fell to the ground. "What is happening? "I was puzzled. Just now the place was filled with sound of happiness and the next moment all I could hear was screaming of pain. A terrible pain.

I knew that if I look back right now, a horrible image will stuck in my head forever but curiosity got the better of me. I turned my head and the sight is just like the thing I expected. But the most shocking thing was there was a girl, a little girl, with black wings up in the sky controlling every elements, water, air, earth and fire and use it as a weapon, crushing those innocent creatures.

I saw one of the gnomes that was working just now, dragging itself towards me. It mutters the word help but suddenly in the blink of an eye, the gnome was killed with a sword, stabbed at it's back with the person who killed it beside it. The person who killed it have a long hair, clothes drenched with blood and somehow looks very terrifying.

"You have to help me... " it said, in a very low voice. As I couldn't hear what the heck did she said, I made myself closer to her, cautiously. "What? "Then she suddenly raised her head and what I saw in front of me left me speechless.

It was me?!

Her pair of red eyes looked into me and started to cry.

"I didn't asked for this to happen! I... I just wanted to make my mom proud of me! "She started to cry even more. Her cries made my heart swelled up. I tried to approach her. But I stopped my hand from moving when I heard she said.

"The time will come again, Mia. You need to control yourself from any source that can make you angry. If not, you will be ending up like me... Causing such damage that will also consume your loved ones." Then she started to fly off again.

"Wait, I still have a lot of question to ask. Come back." She turned towards me and started to fly back to me. She held my hands and I felt something was placed on my hands.

It looked like some kind of an amulet. A very beautiful one.
