Why Me?

Mia's POV

"STOP!"

I was now standing in front of Victor with my hands extended like in the Titanic show. "This has to stop!" I shouted. For some reason, the three guys didn't attack me. They just STOP. Then, I saw a glowing light came from under my chin. I looked down and saw my amulet, started to illuminate with purple light.

Then all of a sudden, the purple light started to spread out towards the guys. Right now, their looks indicates that they were frightened by it. They quickly took their heels and tried to escape but the purple light that turned into smoke caught them and all I heard was the sound of a horrific screaming.

All was silence. The smoke vanished leaving three beat up guys. Mostly seen like they were drained. The sight was too much for me, I couldn't bear it! Their hands and legs were in the wrong places. Their heads were twisted. And their skin were closed to the skin. I don't want to see this! But my eyes doesn't want to obey me.

Suddenly, a hand gently cover my eyes, blocking it from seeing that gruesome sight again. "Shh... It's gonna be fine. Don't worry. I'll be here for you." As I heard the soft and comforting voice of his, my eyes started to tear up and I started to cry.
Victor gently hugged me from behind and dragged me away from that place.

I sat there thinking about what just happened. How did it suddenly lit up? Did my dream about that girl really true and not just a dream? Is the amulet just saved me and Victor? Too many question in my head and a solution to none.

Suddenly I felt something cold touched my cheeks, causing me to flinch. I look up and I saw Victor holding two canned drinks, one on the right and one near my face. I readily accept it and just stare at it.

I could sense that Victor was concerned. He put his hand on mine to comfort me. 'Never thought I would be seeing Victor like this.' I thought to myself.

"Hey Victor... "I said without looking up from my drink. He was silence showing that he was listening.

"What am I? Am I a human? Or am I a monster? Am I really Queen Sapphire's daughter? Am i---" I stopped as he put a finger on my lips.
"Mia, stop thinking too much." I looked at him with my face saying that I have a lot of questions in my head. We were silence for a moment. Victor suddenly gave a deep sigh.

"Fine. You said you want answers right? "I nodded. He then pointed at my amulet. "You have that amulet. It will help you." I looked at my amulet, the one that I got from my dream. I suddenly remember what little Mia said to me. I stared at the amulet thinking how to ask it.

But I just had enough of this thing for a day. So I put back my amulet into my dress and got up.

"You know what Victor?" I said looking at him. He raised his eyebrow at me. I smiled at him and grabbed his hand to help him get up. "Let's forget about it for a moment. I just wanna have fun today!" I grabbed his hand and only then I remembered that his hand was bleeding because of the fight earlier.

"Victor, does it still hurt?" I asked him.  His hand was still bleeding at some cuts and I can't help but feel guilty. He shrugged it off and said it was nothing. I started to search my pockets if there is anything I could wrapped the wound with. And magically there was a handkerchief in one of my pocket. Ha! What do you know?

I quickly wrapped his hand and he flinched a bit because it pain. "There. It's done." I said. I hold his hand with both of my hands and bring it to my cheeks. "Pain, hear me. Please leave from this body and never come back." I closed my eyes as I said this. Little did I know that my jade necklace was shining and it healed his wounds.
