Emi's POV
"Emily! Wake up,"
I mumble in response, not opening my eyes. Pain courses through my body.
"Emi-chan!" someone grabs my shoulders, shaking me awake.
"Minami?" I whine. "What is it?"
"We have to get out of here! N-"
She's cut off by a scream. "Kokona!! I thought we were friends!!" I look past Minami to see Rinya, lying still in a pool of her own blood, that floods from her stomach.
"I stabbed her and immobilized her with a drug," Minami says to me, her face full of fear. "But it won't last Emi! We have to get out before Yuni gets back!!" She unties my hands and feet and hoists me onto her back, causing a scream of pure anguish to leave my lips. "I'm sorry Emi," she nearly cries. "But we need to go. Now!" She heads for the door, but is stopped by Rinya's words.
"Kokona," she sobs. "I thought you were my friend," Tears run down her cheeks.
"We are." Minami replies, turning her back. "You're like my little sister. And that's why I'm doing this. You didn't want this for Emi, did you Rin?"
"No," she whispers. "I only did it... for sis,"
"Goodbye Rin." Minami says, a tear slipping down her cheek. "I'm sorry, but I won't let you turn out like your sister."
"Ko-" she drifts out of consciousness.
"We need to run," Minami says to me, opening the door. The horrible heavy feeling in my stomach vanishes, and I relax on her back slightly. I'm going to be okay.
"Well hello there,"
Yuki's POV
When I wake up Yuni is beside me, snoring softly. I smile, and lean over her.
"So cute," I whisper, my face growing hot.
"Y-uki?" her eyes open and jump, falling off the bed onto my back.
"Ow!"
"Yuki! Are you okay??" Yuni leans over the bed, but she slips on the sheets and falls onto my chest.
"Ack! Sor-"
Her lips connect with mine and we both go silent. She pulls away and sits up on the floor next to me.
"U-um I'm sorry!" I mumble, blushing furiously.
She smiles and laughs, wiping a tear from her eye. "And that's why I love you,"
After a few moments of silence our eyes meet. "So..." I trail off, grabbing her hand and helping her up. "Should we get ready for school now?"
She sighs. "I suppose." She stares at me with concern. "You're gonna be okay going back, right master?"
I nod and force a smile. "Never better."
15 minutes later, we sit at the table waiting for breakfast our uniforms on and ready.
"Sorry for the wait," Maki says, brinking a plate of pancakes out of the kitchen.
"No problem Maki," Yuni smiles.
I lock eyes with her across the table and grin. I mouth the words, "And that's why I love you,"
We eat breakfast in a hurry and grab our bags, rushing outside. Maki stops us both and the door, patting Yuni's head. "Protect each other, got it?"
Yuni giggles and takes my hand. "Got it," We hop in the limo and Maki waves us goodbye.
Yuni seems strangely happy the whole way to school, like the only emotion she's ever felt is pure joy. Did I do that to her? Do I really make her this happy?
Whatever it is,
"I love you Yuki,"
I hope she stays like this.
"I love you too,"
She deserves happiness.
