35: Probable Death

A/N: Kay so back in chapter 32 I apparently left you with a cliffhanger.. And I forgot to finish it..... Ya know, that whole scene with Rinya lying on the floor bleeding as Kokona's trying to escape with Emi? Yeah... I'm going to patch that up best as I can but I'll admit I messed up a little bit.. Forgive me.. Hehe heh..

Kokona's POV (Called Minami by Emi)

"Minami?"

I turn to stare at Emily, who lies in a hospital bed, pale and tired.

"You're awake," I say, smiling slightly. "Hey Emi,"

"Where are we? I blacked out.."

"A hospital a few miles away from, well, you know who. I ran as fast as I could and called an ambulance. You've been asleep for a couple days."

She shudders. "Wait, wasn't there.." she pauses. "A boy?"

I frown. "Yes."

FLASHBACK TO ESCAPE

"Well hello there," a voice says, a shadowed figure standing in front of me.

In my frantic state I sprint past the figure standing in front of me, terrified to stop for even one moment. Emily passes out at this point, from exhaustion and shock. I have to save her.

"Now wait just a minute," he grabs my arm and holds me in place, and I nearly drop Emily. I shake when I recognize the white haired boy in front of me.

"A-Aru?"

He smiles. "You're one of Yuni's little friends aren't you?" he pauses for a minute and examines Emily. "Although, by the look of it, she hasn't been very kind to you,"

I try to hold back tears, and regain my composure. "Why are you here Aru?"

He peeks in the door. "A little bird told me my dear sister lived here, when she wasn't with that beloved human of hers. But to my surprise what do I find? My long lost sister, Rinya." he smiles, his eyes dark.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Rinya shake. When Rinya followed Yuni to earth, she made sure to keep it hidden from her siblings and father, and made sure it looked like she had disappeared to go look for Yuni. The two faked her death and made it look like Yuni had murdered her. It was believable, and they all presumed her dead. She was terrified of being found, the reason why she had always preferred to stay indoors whenever possible, or wear a disguise when going out, and only that when completely necessary.

"We all thought you were dead Rin," he laughs. "You did put up quite a good act, although I admit I thought it was strange that you, who had always been close with dear Yuni, had been murdered by her."

I step in front of the door shakily. "Don't hurt her."

"Oh, Rin, have you made human friends as well? What a shame. Yuni really did ruin you, and you were always one of our fastest. Not too loyal to father though, so I guess it's not a surprise."

He steps closer. "Stay away from her!"

Something suddenly touches my shoulder and shoves me out of the doorway. "Run Kokona!" A flash of white zips by, leaving trails of blood. It's Rinya, I realize, sprinting away as fast as she can despite injury.

"She always was fast," Aru sighs. "But she was never a good fighter," he takes off after her, turning around to smile at me. "I'll let you live this time, I have other matters to attend to,"

That is the moment I run, as fast and far as I can, before stopping to call an ambulance. I pray that Rin is alright as the sirens flash blue and red. If Aru catches her, she will die.

Yuni's POV (Present)

For the rest of class, everyone sneaks glances at me. Yuki is completely clueless, and it works well for me. If he had seen me shove that bitchy president into the wall, he might have caught on. And I can't ever let him see that side of me. No matter what.

When the bell finally rings, Yuki walks over to my desk and pulls me out of my chair. "Yuki wha-" his lips meet mine and I hear a gasp from another student.

"Love you," he smiles, bushing red. "I really want you to know that I do," 

I stand speechless, a grin on my face. I've never been this happy before. Not once.

"I love you too Yuki," I whisper in his ear.

I clasp my hand around his, and turn my heel to walk out of the classroom. I hold a smile, but a thought comes to my mind. I have to keep him safe. I can't let Aru or father, or anyone take him away from me. I'll die without him. I know it. 

A/N: I am so sorry readers! I know it's been a month since my last update, and I haven't said anything since, but I am not giving up on this story. I was pulled away from home on a surprise vacation to my hometown to see my grandparents, but they don't have wifi set up where they live, because neither have cellphones. I haven't had a chance to update due to this and for that I sincerely apologize. I'm now at my aunt's house with wifi, so I'll be updating regularly again! Again, so sorry for the disappearing act yet again! Forgive me >-<
