Chapter 30
A couple weeks later
I was on my farm working with my animals. I bought a new cow and a sheep too. With the extra money I made growing crops, the upgrade to my house was completely finished and I even got a new dog house for Max! It was just a regular day on the farm in Spring. Just without me being a new wife or, living with someone... So yes... It was a regular day on the farm...
I ended up finishing all my work pretty early. With the rest of my day completely free, I guess I'll go to the beach and enjoy the water.
Since I was going to the beach I put on my overall shorts my plaid shirt and my regular brown flats.
I arrived at the beach and out of everyone that could possibly be there, it was him...
Cliff was sitting on the beach just like I would have been. Instead of going to the beach I'll go somewhere else..
I start walking back and next thing you know, this huge man bumps into me and makes me fall onto the ground.
"Ouch..." I said
"Oh... Sorry did I hurt you?" The man said
"No, I'm fine."
"Here follow me and I'll make you all better.."
With a smirk on his face he tries taking me with him, so I keep struggling to get out of his arms. Cliff was still on the beach as if he didn't see anything..
"Leave her alone already...She obviously doesn't want to go with you, and you'd think someone as big as yourself would know that.." Cliff said.
Cliff was still on the ground staring at the ocean when he said those words. The huge man dropped me on the ground, which really hurt, and left.
"Thanks.." I said to Cliff
"No problem..." Cliff said
I then sat down next to him in the sand and we watched the water float by together.
"Hey Cliff, remember when I brought you here for the fireworks festival..?"
"How could I ever forget.. The first time I got slapped by someone!"
"Heh, heh.. Right.."
Me and Cliff laughed and talked how we always used to, and I really enjoyed it.
After the beach, me and Cliff went to the Inn and had dinner, which was super funny! Cliff couldn't stop spilling things and poor Ann had to clean them up each time, but she probably liked it cause Cliff was there.
After that Cliff walked me back to my house.
" I actually had a good time with you today that I never thought I would have... Thank you!"
" No problem.. But Claire?"
"Yea?"
" I hope you know that...I'm starting to think of you as my friend again, and well also... I never stopped thinking of you as my bride either."
That was Cliffs last word, and he left my farm.
It seemed as if that one day... Was our starting point back up to friendship.
The Next day
I woke up the next morning and called my sister to tell her how everything is going, now that I have my own telephone..
" Hello?" A man said
" Hi, may I speak to Jill please?" I replied
"Oh Claire is this you?" The man said
"Gray! Oh it's you.." I said quietly
"Yea.. Umm.. Il just go get Jill.." Gray said
" ok..."
"Hello?" Jill said
"Hey Jill how are things?" I said
"I'm fine, me and Gray have our differences, but we're already thinking about a family!"
"Wow.. Already?"
"Yea, isn't it great!"
"Umm sure.."
"How about you?"
"I'm fine.. I wanted to tell you, me and Cliff are becoming better friends now!"
"Oh no the lunch is burning!! Have to go, Bye Claire!"
"Wait..."
Never mind anyway..
POV GRAY
This morning I answered the house phone for Jill and me, and Claire was on the line! For some reason I was excited..I don't get excited for phone calls...ever.
It seems as if I was happy to talk Claire, but I have my own family! I don't need Claire in my life...
"Hey Honey, sorry the lunch is burning hold on!"
I wonder if Claire would have burnt the lunch... Wait why am I thinking of this?! Claire is gone for good...
" *sweating and breathing heavily* sorry... I guess we're ordering something from the market for lunch.."
"That's alright... So did Claire say anything?"
"Oh my sister..hmm well not much, I had to get off the phone because of lunch, the most thing I got out of her is that, her and that Cliff guy are becoming friends again.."
"Oh..."
Why do I feel this way... This is wrong!
