I woke up that morning, with the feeling of firework's aftershock on my lips.
I blinked opened my eyes, Hey doofus, Jessie kissed you last night and you were fucking stupid and let her sleep alone. You idiot. I wanted to slap myself, but Charlie was awake and looking at me.
"What's up?" She asked.
"Nothing."
"Liar." Charlie blurted out.
I rolled my eyes and looking for Jessie, I wanted to apologize for my stupidness. I couldn't find her.
"She's in the bathroom. She's been in there for awhile, ever since she woke up fifteen minutes ago." Charlie said as if reading my mind.
I sat up and leaned against the couch for a few minutes until I heard some moving above me.
"Hey guys," Mandy woke up, "where's Jessie?"
Right as she said that Jessie walked out of the bathroom. "Hey." She looked around at the others, but when we had eye contact, she dropped her head.
Was I that bad of a kisser?
Jessie moved her bag closer to Charlie.
"Why did you sleep so far away?" Mandy asked.
"I don't know. Don't like sleeping near people I guess." Jessie said, still looking down.
Yeah right, you just don't like sleeping next to me, I thought bitterly.
"Hey, I have something to do with my parents early this morning. Would you mind driving me? Or is it horrible that I'd be taking you away from this party." Jessie spoke to Charlie.
I kind of just sat there, not realizing why she didn't talk to me. Only knowing that my world might just shatter, right now. I know it's a bit exaggerated, but, you try kissing your crush and then be rejected. Or whatever the heck she is doing.
Mandy was sitting up on the couch and turned on the tv. Avatar the Last Airbender was on, Mandy was about to change the channel when Charlie screamed, "No, don't change it! I love this episode!"
Leave it to Charlie to watch animated shows for seven year old boys.
"This is the episode where Katara and Sakka are sick and Aang had to find them frozen frogs to make them better. But he gets captured and Zuko pretends to be the Blue Spirit and 'saves' him." Charlie recited from memory.
"Back to the real world. How did you guys sleep last night," I said, trying to start a crappy conversation.
"OH MY GOD," Charlie slapped Jessie's arm, "I had the craziest dream last night and all of you were in it! Jessie and Blake were on a boat, sailing through the sea of hope, towards the sunset of love."
I rolled my eyes. Jessie blushed.
Charlie continued, "Then Mandy jumped out of the water, she was a mermaid and I climbed on to the boat, I was a secret spy."
Mandy and I stopped listening to Charlie, we were use to her weird dreams.
"I think we should eat breakfast," I said, trying to conceal my growing stomach.
"I second that." Mandy got up.
I walked past Jessie, she took an interest in her sleeping bag once again. Charlie got up and followed me upstairs.
My parents were still asleep. So I started making pancakes. Mandy and Jessie sat at the table, Charlie wanted to help. But the last time she helped, my dog was white for an hour. So she sat besides Jessie.
