"Blake, can you run to the post office?" My Mom yelled from the kitchen.

I ran downstairs, "Yeah sure. What do you need me to drop off?"

She handed me a box. I took it, "I'll drop it off after school."

She nodded as I ran out the door connecting to the garage. I hopped into my truck and backed out.

I arrived at school and walked to the commons. Alex, Mandy, Ryan, and Charlie was there. "Hey guys."

"Hi." They all said in unison. It was creepy.

The first two periods of the day flew by. I found myself sitting in my English class with Mr. Gold. I don't really like him, I mean he's a decent guy but he has this talent of making you partners with a person who you just absolutely positively don't want to work with.

"Did everyone write their three paragraph drafts last night?" He asked us. "Okay, well. Everyone look at the board, your groups are up there."

The class moaned. I looked for my name, "Kevin, Brittany, and Todd." I mumbled to myself. Well shit. I thought and looked at Todd smiling at me.

I sat next to Todd. "Sup babe."

I rolled my eyes.

"Aw, come on. Don't reject this." He gestured to his body. "I mean. I'm the Todd for goodness sake."

I got up, leaving him talking to himself. "Excuse me, Mr. Gold."

"Yes? Is there a problem?"

"No, well yeah. I mean, sorta. I um came here to ask if you could change my group." I said nervously.

"It's only for this class period Miss. Anderson." Mr. Gold said.

Yeah, forty five minutes in hell, I sighed and walked back to my table. Todd opened up his mouth. "Shut up." I said before he could get anything out.

The rest of the day flew by. I got in my truck, ready to go home, but then I saw the package in the back seat.

I drove to the nearest post office. It took awhile because...I might've gotten lost looking for it. What? I don't go to the mail office! I use the internet and my phone like normal people these days.

I got out the car and gabbed the package. It was so tall, I could barely see over it.

Please don't fall please don't fall. I thought, hoping my wishing would succeed. "Yikes, ahh," I struggled and almost dropped the box.

"Oh, here. Let me help you with that." Someone grabbed the box out of my hands.

"Um, thanks." I pushed my hair back.

"No problem." A mans voice said, coming from behind the box.

Face, where's a face? "This guy could be an axe murderer." I said in my head at first, but then the rest slipped out my mouth. I slapped my hand over my mouth. Fuck.

I heard laughing from behind the box. "Yeah, because that's always a possibility."

"It could be! Ever listen to the news?" I said defending myself.

"No I do, I just don't think that a nice seventeen year old axe murderer boy would stop to help a girl in need." He chuckled.

"Well-" I stopped. I let out a "humph" and opened the door for him.

I followed him to a table. He set the package down and turned around. Revealing a pair of grey eyes. He ran his fingers through his dirty blond hair. "There you go."

I was looking at his eyes, "They're so different." Slipped out of my mouth. I really need to work on keeping things inside my head.

"Huh?" He looked down at me.

"I meant your eyes." I wanted to punch myself.

"Oh." He stood there awkwardly, my random outbursts of thoughts were not helping. "I should go, Waters will be waiting for me."

"Oh, yeah. Wait, you know a guy named 'Waters'?" I asked.

"No, that's just his last name." The mystery boy shook my hand. "Bye."

"Bye." I said, watching him leave and run to a black car.

Focus, package, remember? My conscience reminded me. I picked the box up and went to the post office window thing.

"You put the stamps and everything on the box?" I heard a familiar voice say.

Fuck, it was Jessie. I hope she didn't see me with that guy, I thought. "Yeah, my Mom put everything on it."

"Thank you." She took the box and disappeared into another room. A few seconds later she walked back out. "Hey Blake, sorry if I seemed a little cold. It's just my job, my Dad is forcing me to work here."

Thank god, she isn't mad at me. I was relieved. "So, you're a MailGirl?" I asked.

"I guess you could say that. Hey, do you want to catch an early dinner? My shift is over." She said. "You can invite whoever." She added.

I knew Alex lived by here somewhere, so I texted her. She said she couldn't make it.

I looked up from my phone and looked at her. "It seems like no one can make it. So I guess it's just you and I. Or should I say The MailGirl and I."
