"Seth!" I got out of his car and slammed the it's door. Why does this feel like déjà vu?

"Yes?"

"Where the hell did you take me? My Mom and Dad are going to go crazy! This isn't anywhere near home!"

He was laughing. He was fucking laughing at me! "Just, follow me."

"It's eight and I'm three hours away from my house! And I'm in a dress and I have this weird sensation that I have to check my makeup but I don't know how to use half of the makeup thingys!" I rambled and followed him up a hill.

He grabbed my hand and brought me over to a picnic table.

I looked around. There were cabins, tress, picnic tables, grills, and a lake in the middle of the land. I looked at the dock, there was a canoe floating in the water near it.

"Hey! They're here!" Seth was waving to someone.

I looked at the two figures coming over a hill in the distance.

"Charlie, where are you taking me?" I heard a familiar voice say.

"Jessie, shush and look nice." I heard Charlie.

"Jessie?" I said aloud. Jessie was here? I immediately fixed my hair and straightened my dress. "What is going on Seth? Why is Jessie here? She hates me!"

"Shush and look nice." He walked over to Charlie in her black dress and flats, "Hello girls."

Jessie looked at me and played with her dress. Was she nervous?

Charlie and Seth walked away.

Wait? Guys what am I supposed to do with her? I mentally screamed for help. "Hey Jessie."

"Hey Blake." She looked up and met my eyes. Once again I fell for her familiar green eyes. "I was an idiot. I ran away after I, after I...kissed you. Then I ignored you and hurt you and myself but I was too much of a wimp to say that I was sorry."

I sank deeper into her gaze, "It's fine."

"No it's not fine. I was a jerk and I really shouldn't be forgiven and-"

I cut her off, "I'm forgiving you."

She smiled, "Oh, okay then. Thank you."

If only you knew that you didn't need to apologize for kissing me. I thought as I looked at her some more.

"Do you know why they brought us here?" Jessie asked, bringing me out of thought.

"I don't know."

"The canoe! You airheads go to the canoe!" I heard Charlie's voice echo through a speakerphone attached to the buildings.

Jessie and I looked at each other and shrugged. We made our way over to the small boat. There was a candle lit picnic set up in it.

Fuck you Charlie and Seth.

"What is this?" Jessie asked.

"Don't look at me." I got in the canoe first and held out my hand to Jessie.

She took it, the known feeling of fireworks burst into life. I sat down across from her, the candle light shimmering in her eyes.

I heard the sound of feet hitting the ground. I looked up, Charlie was waving at me. "Toodaloo!" Seth pushed the canoe away from the dock. I looked around for a paddle, but of course they took them out.

Jessie was giggling. I looked at her and started laughing.

I opened up the basket of food, there was a note in it.

"It's October 10th you dumbass. Don't you remember anything?"

I read Seth's hand writing. I suddenly remembered him telling me about his fathers camp site.

"Aren't the stars bright tonight?" Jessie said.

I looked up, "Yeah, they're beautiful."

By now we were floating in the middle of the lake. We ate our dinner, catching up with each other. Laughing with one another and just enjoying each other's company.

"I've missed you," I told Jessie.

"Yeah." Jessie spoke lower. "Blake, I have something to tell you. You have to promise me you won't run away like I did okay? You won't throw me out of your life for good, you won't leave me alone. You promise?"

"I promise." Everything suddenly got serious.

I could heard the crickets chirping and the wind pushing the water as I waited for Jessie to speak.

"Blake I think, no I know. Its just." She paused and looked back up at me. "Shit Blake, I think I'm in love with you."

I was shocked, not in a million years did I think things would ever work out for me, at least not in the world I was living in. But I guess good things do happen.

"Blake, I know, I know it's weird. Just if you're going to hate me like that girl in my old school, please tell me first." Jessie spoke with sadness flowing out through her words.

"Jessie, I'm not going to hate you. How could I ever hate the girl I...love?" I took her hand.

"You like me? But I thought you were straight."

I laughed, "As if."

She squeezed my hand. "I'm glad I sat next to you on that ride."

I nodded, "I am too."

We sat there in silence, looking at each other. I noticed how the wind blew her brown hair behind her perfectly, how the light reflected off her eyes, and how she was in love with me.

We were interrupted by a song that blasted out of the speaker phones. It was Kiss the Girl from the Little Mermaid. I looked towards the shore. "Kiss her!" Charlie screamed through the microphones. I could hear Charlie and Seth laughing from somewhere.

Jessie placed her hand on my chin and turned my head to look at her. She moved some hair out of my face. "Shall we?"

A/N: THE END!!! Okay, so this wasn't the best romantic love story, but it was fun to write an watch my friend squeal in anticipation.
