All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn
"Noah?" A tired Piper asks as she opens the door to her boyfriend. "Why are you here so early?"
"I'm leaving," he tells her directing to the taxi waiting out the front of the house. "I took up Chloe's offer and they need me in England now."
Piper stands still for a while not sure what to say. After all, her boyfriend was leaving; and on such short notice.
"I'm sorry." Noah tells her taking her hand in his, "but it's such a big opportunity, I couldn't pass it up."
The taxi's waiting, his blown his horn
The taxi driver impatiently toots his horn to which Noah puts up his hand; 'in a minute'.
"No, um, I'm glad you took it, I just wish you had told me sooner."
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
Noah takes Piper's other hands and looks her dead in the eyes, "I wish I could have decided sooner. Could've made this easier on us.
Piper leans her forehead against Noah's and takes a deep breath, "Go, make your dreams come true."
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Piper moves her head up and places a chaste kiss on Noah's lips before engulfing him in a hug.
"Come back."
Noah nods his head, "always."
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go
They pull apart and Noah looks at the taxi in the driveway.
"I should really go now," he tells Piper with no intention of letting go of her hands or walking away.
"Yeah. You probably should."
And yet the pair stays glued together, none of them wanting to let go. Not now, not ever.
One more time, let me kiss you
Then close your eyes, I'll be on my way.
"Come here."
Noah pulls Piper closer (if that's even possible) and kisses her; one last time.
Piper closes her eyes on reaction and keeps them closed even after the kiss ends.
Noah takes one last look at Piper with her eyes closed and turns away heading back to the taxi. To the airport. To England. Away from his love.
And dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
