HELLO EVERYONE! I want to start off this update with a sorry for the lack of updates/brief hiatus. A lot of you have been begging for updates and I have been very inactive. Similar to a lot of Youtubers and content creators, I needed time to figure out the direction I wanted to go in and take some time to think about this idea that I have brought to life, with the help of my #FlashetteFam. After a brief point of thinking, I realized that this is what I want to continue doing. Though it takes a lot of time and effort, I love writing and sharing my ideas with you guys. Not updating made me realize how much I missed it and that I can't give up when things don't work out regarding scheduling. I knew from the beginning of the hiatus that I wanted to continue, but I needed to find the perfect place to do so. This character has been a part of something special, and "Flashette", is not only a part of me, but it is also a part of you. I know the season of "The Flash" ends soon, and there are ALOT of updates in the works for you guys. Thank you for being patient, and enjoy the update!

"Are you sure you're alright?" Barry asked, looking at me deeply with concern. I could feel my eyes becoming glassy, but I refused to let a tear fall. I walked over to our couch and sat down slowly, motioning for Barry to join me. I sighed deeply, figuring out how to form the rush of emotions that swirled in my head:
"When Savitar was around and I travelled to the future, I saw things you can't unsee..." I shook my head and gathered my thoughts before continuing: "And while I was there, future Cisco told me our greatest enemy would be a man with the last name: 'DeVoe'. And after I realized who it was we were talking about today, I couldn't help but think if this was the man that Cisco told us about..." Barry stroked my arm as my head fell to the floor and he spoke softly:
"It's gonna be alright". I flinched at his touch and met his eyes, mine now glassed over to the point where tears began to fall.
"It's just that we are just finally starting to get our happy ending that we've always wanted, and I don't want anything to come between that." I buried my face in my hands and didn't bother to hold back the worry in my heart. "We have so much to lose...Our family...Our friends...Our home...Eachother...I can't bare to think of giving it all up, letalone someone taking it away from us...And having this increased fear doesn't help. It only amplifies the reality of the situation to 1000." Barry took my hands in his. My emotions were out of control and I couldn't get a hold of them. I found myself panicking, not being able to get rid of the flashbacks of that night in the future.
"Chlo..." Barry said, placing a hand on my arm and attempting to bring me back to reality. "Look at me," he said, placing his hand softly under my chin and making me look up at him. "I've said it many times before, and i'll say it again...I won't let this guy, or anyone, hurt our family." Barry stroked my hands and continued looking at me deeply. I then nodded and he pulled me into his chest.
"How can you be certain?" I asked as I melted to his touch and started calming down. A part of me always thinks of the worst possible scenario, and doubts everything people say. Unfortunately, it's always a part of me i'll never be able to let go.
"You know me, Chlo." Barry pulled me close to his chest and rocked us slowly back and forth. "You can always count on me to fufil my promises," Barry said sternly, gripping me tighter.
The next morning was our typical morning, except I wasn't as giddy as usual. My brain still thought about DeVoe and if he was really the guy we were looking for. My mind began to wander, until Barry brought me back.
"You alright?" he asked, looking at me from the other side of the kitchen as he leaned over the edge of the counter.
"Just thinking about things," I replied, taking in each individual detail of our marble countertop. Barry hesitated:
"Why don't you get a head start on work today...I can handle the kids for a little while." I walked toward him and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Don't you have plans with Joe at CCPD?" I asked, looking up at him. He shook his head.
"You're more important to me than any plan i'll ever have," he said with a smile. I smiled and planted a sweet kiss on his lips before speeding out the door.
"Any new leads on DeVoe?" I asked eagerly as I sprinted into the cortex, almost setting the place on fire. The papers Caitlin was filing flew all over the room, and I gave her an apologetic smile. Cisco then looked up from his computer with raised eyebrows.
"I was excited to get here." I smiled. Cisco looked me up and down.
"Uh-huh...This increased energy clearly isn't from Barry..." Cisco said, lookig back at his computer.
"You'll be surprised--" I said defensively before Cisco cut me off.
"Don't need to hear about the transformation of energy between speedsters, okay? I'm a normal human, and I like to keep it simple." Cisco lounged back in his chair and I attempted to get some information out of him.
"I came here early because I was interested on our bus meta situation...". I paused, awaiting a response, which instead was silence. "And...while we're on the subject of that, any new leads on DeVoe?". I stood, rocking back and forth on my tippy toes as Cisco continued typing.
"You'll be surprised how many people have the same last name." His fingers tapped harder at the keys as I looked through the paper records Joe brought over an hour earlier.
"There has to be at least one right one." I put the manilla folder in my hand down and closed it on the desk, placing it in the "no" pile. "I was told he would be one of our greatest enemies..." I then plopped down in the chair next to my workstation and began to think. "Anything we can eliminate regarding age?". Cisco put the filtered results on the overhead screen and I looked through them. He pulled up a profile.
"Unless one of your greatest foes is the three-month-old William DeVoe who lives four blocks from here, we can eliminate the baby age group". I looked through the information and decided it didn't match.
"I highly doubt one of our greatest enemies is a baby."
"Evil killer babies could be real...I've seen Boss Baby...". I laughed at Cisco's joke and even Caitlin chuckled. Cisco then put his hands infront of his chest innocently and spoke: "Why are you laughing? Have you learned nothing from your experiences here? You never know what could happen!". I pointed my finger at him and responded:
"True that!"
"It totally could happen," said a familliar friend, her heels clicking into the cortex as she continued walking closer and closer. I turned and ran towards the swinging ponytail and black rimmed glasses.
"FELICITY!" I exclaimed as I threw my arms around her neck and pulled her in for a big, tight hug. She pulled away from the hug after a few seconds and handed me a small little bag tied with a few bright pink balloons.
"Hello, new mommy!" she said, clapping her hands together.
"What do I owe the pleasure?" I asked as I took the bag from her hands. "And what's this?". I opened the bag to find a little card. Felicity pointed to the inside of the card.
"Your invitation to an all planned, one night only, girls night!". She did a little mini hop and I looked down at the card. I looked back up at her and shook my head.
"Fel, you know I have the kids--" she cut me off quickly and didn't give me time to finish.
"Exactly! Sarah offered to keep the twins with baby John if you wanted to go out tonight with us." I furrowed my eyebrows and thought about how concisely planned this was. I didn't have the kids, and I didn't want to just leave them with someone else when I had a feeling that something could be wrong with the whole DeVoe situation. But then I thought of how it would be nice to have a night with just my friends. "If it makes you feel any better, Barry's going to be going out, too. Oliver planned a little something for the boys". I looked at her again, her slowly nudging my arms. "Huh...huh...Whataya say?". I thought about her offer and thoughts of negativity came to mind. What if something goes wrong? What if something happens to the kids?. In order to enjoy the little piece of normal life I had, I knew I had to keep it alive.
"Oliver Queen doing something nice for someone out of the kindness of his heart? He must want something", I said with a laugh. "And because his stone cold heart overcame it's greatest fear of becoming soft, I will put my worries aside and go to your party." Felicity then brought me to her once more and wrapped me in her embrace.
"WOOO! This is gonna be a crazy night!" she said, turning on her heel and quickly pulling my arm, taking me suddenly to the entrance of the cortex. "While we get the two ready for their mom and dadchlerette parties, Cisco, you need to work on getting some alarms in here...maybe some jingle bells, something." Felicity said as she continued to walk out of the cortex.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah...You make comments about my not updated tech everytime you come in here," I could hear Cisco say as we walked further and further away from the cortex. Felicity dragged me all the way out of S.T.A.R Labs and to my home, where she brought me directly to the closet in Barry and I's room.
"I'm not gonna find any surprises in here, am I?" Felicity asked, slowly pulling back the closet door, exposing the many hangers full of clothing. She moved hangers around, hoping to find an outfit that she thought was "suitable" for the night. "We need something that makes you look less like a mom..." She pulled out outfits, studying them for a few seconds before shaking her head and placing them back in.
"Are you saying the clothes I wear now make me look like a mom?" I asked, examining my current outfit of converse, leggings, and a graphic tee.
"No, I just don't want this outfit to give people the impression that you're a mom." I scoffed as she continued looking through my closet, taking out another shirt.
"But I am..." I said, Felicity frowning and placing the shirt back on the rack.
"For the sake of tonight, you're not gonna be." She then gasped and pulled out a contendor that she thought was suitable. "This doesn't make you look like a mom," she said, showing me the lacy, black, spaghetti strap dress she was holding in her hand. I looked at it and shook my head. She sighed: "Oh, I get it...Only for Barry.." she said, putting it back in the closet and continuing to dig through the closet. "How about this?". She held up a short, simple skater dress. My eyes lit up, looking at the dress that I haven't been able to wear for a while. "I think we've found a winner. Find some shoes, sugar, and you're ready to go!" she said, stepping away from the closet and handing me the hanger. I took it, switching places with her infront of my closet and digging through my shoes. I quickly settled on my classic black Converse, earning a giggle from Felicity.
"Should've expected that." I slapped her arm playfully before sliding on the shoes and following Felicity to the place where we were all meeting.
Felicity pulled into one of the places where I was not expecting: "Big Bell Burger." A smile lit up my face as I thought of the greasy, deep fried food.
"Why are we here? I thought we were meeting the girls," I said, looking over at Felicity in the driver's seat.
"We are," she replied, reaching in the backseat and grabbing her purse. "This is your favorite place...We weren't going to meet in a place where you don't feel comfortable." She looked over at me and smiled. I smiled back, full of greatfulness. Not everyone was lucky enough to have a Felicity Smoak in their life.
"You know me so well, Felicity..." I said with a chuckle.
"Now what are we waiting for?" Felicity asked, licking her lips. "The fryers and a bunch of hungry girls are waiting," she said before I hopped out of the car and walked into the familliar, amazingly good smelling burger joint.
"It's a good thing I can burn all this off, fast," I said as the door closed behind me.
Upon entering, my friends were easy to spot. The place had been empty, and they were sitting in my usual corner booth in the back.
"Girls!" I exclaimed, running up to their table. They each took turns getting up and hugging me, and eventually we all sat down.
"Ready for the ladies night to end all ladies nights?" Felicity asked. All the girls raised their eyebrows and exchanged glances. "Can we get some shots over here?" Felicity demanded.
"I don't think they do those here," I said, tapping on her shoulder. "But bottomless fries and endless chicken tendres sound good right about now," I said, looking at the list of specials above the counter across the room.
"Those do sound delicious," said Cecile. "I'm craving anything that's been fried at least twice." I looked at her and her glowing complxion, and remembered that she was expecting.
"Your baby! I forgot about that...How's all that going?". Cecile smiled widely and beamed. She was radiating happiness. I didn't even have to ask, because I already knew how she was going to respond.
"Though it's been a little unpredictible, i'm loving every second of it. It's worth it for what's to come." Cecile patted her stomach and looked down with a smile,
"It certainly is..." I said, thinking about my two kids at home and how much my life has changed for the better with them. "After knowing the happiness and joy that parenthood brings, I can tell you that I would do it all again." All the girls then 'oohed' and pointed at me.
"We're here celebrating your new motherhood of your almost seven month old twins, and you're already talking about baby number three?" Iris asked. I shrugged my shoulders and took a sip of my water on the table.
"Barry does want a big family...Besides, we've got enough room in the house for a few more..." the girls cheered and Felicity looked at me.
"You heard it here folks, baby number three is on the horizon."
"Not for a little while...we're just getting used to the two we have now."
"Knowing you two, it will come sooner than you think," Felicity said with a wink. My cheeks were coated with a light pink blush as I reached for my cup and took another sip of my water. "And here's what we've all been waiting for," Felicity said, rubbing her hands together. The chef walked over with two platter sized trays of junk food, such as fried pickles, seasoned fries, burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, onion rings, wings, garlic bread, and pretzel bites.
"Is this heaven?" I asked, my eyes glued to the tray. Lately, i've been trying to keep that "body is a temple" mentality, but if you're in a place and eating junk, mineaswell go all the way. I licked my lips eagerly and I began to drool as the smell hit my nostrils. After the chef turned around and before anyone could get any, I quickly grabbed the food I wanted, being sure to leave a few things for the rest of the group. We all dug in and enjoyed fun, playful, conversation. When the cook came back with a tray of cokes, Felicity tapped her fork on her cup and everyone looked up at her.
"Now that we're here, ladies, I want to give a toast to the new mom. Yes, it is a little late...almost 7 months overdue, but my schedule has been tight for those last 7 months." All the girls nodded with a giggle and Felicity continued: "Congratulations to Chloe as she explores this new chapter of her life. She has accomplished so much, balancing this superhero, semi-normal life." I giggled, a single tear escaping my ducts. "Though her life is fast paced, I hope she takes the time to indulge and slow down during moments like these. Now, to Charry and their little family," Felicity raised her glass in the air, and everyone else followed her action. We all clinked glasses and took sips.
In the midst of the new conversation, I noticed a man walk into the buiding. He was tall and brooding, immedietely giving me red flags. Felicity was in the process of answering a question I had asked previouslly about William and Oliver, but I couldn't listen with that guy hovering over the doorway. I figured he was just some passerby and shook it off. But when he continued to stare, that's when I was bothered.
"Excuse me, sir," I called, pointing to him across the room. He turned his head slightly and gritted his teeth. I got up from my seat and took a few steps towards him.
"Chloe! He's part of the surprise!" Felicity said, running up to my side and looking up at the man. She yanked at his coat. I looked at her doubtfully, knowing something was certainly going on. "Take it off!". Felicity stumbled back when a loud grunt escaped his lips and he pushed past us. He approached the booth and seemed to be staring immensely at Caitlin, who was huddled in the corner of the booth.
"Amunet wants you", the stranger grunted. Rather than being scared, Caitlin's face went smug. She ignored his attempts to get her out of the booth as I watched their interactions.
"Do you know him, Cait?" I asked. "I can get the manager if there is a problem.
"That won't be nexessary," the man said, turning to me. He then turned to Caitlin: "You need to come with me," he said, grabbing her arm. I stepped in before things got too out of hand.
"Excuse me, but if this is part of your act, you're--" I said before he pushed me to the side. I quickly bounced back and resumed my position.
"I'm not going anywhere with you," Caitlin replied before the man leaned over the table and tipped his head foreward, causing what looked to be his eye to fall into the pitcher of water below him. It was then that I knew this wasn't part of the dinner. The man continued to stare at Caitlin, while Iris and Cecile next to her were terrified. Before I could call Barry or think of what to do next, my vision was then clouded with frost. Then I knew this was going to be something none of us expected to see again...not even Caitlin. When my vision was cleared, Killer Frost shot an ice blast, and the man stumbled back.
"Get them outta here!" I yelled to Iris before she helped the giris get to cover. Infront of me, battling the strange man, was Killer Frost.
"Cait..." I said, under my breath, continuing to watch as her bad side pulled her further and further into the darkness. "I thought she was gone...". I looked now at the shell of my former friend, her frosty white hair flowing as she threw her arms down at her sides and assumed her fighting position.
"It didn't have to be this way," Killer Frost said in her distorted voice as she stood square with her enemy, her hands now radiating frost. Knowing that this was her fight, I decided to standby as backup. I knew better than to get in the middle of her buisness, especially bevause I know Killer Frost was risky.
"I was hoping to see you again," the man stated as he cracked his knuckles and puffed his chest. He stared her down, a small smirk appearing on his lips.
"Really?" Killer Frost asked, crossing her arms. "So I could give you another scar?". She pointed to her eye in demonstration and shook her head. "Big mistake," she said as she began shooting ice blasts at the stranger, who dodged them and collided into her head on, only causing her to stumble backwarsds, but not fall completely. Part of me was worried, but the other part knew well enough that Killer Frost was powerful enough to make it through. Though the fight was definetely interesting, I was more taken away by the fact that Caitlin and the man were destroying the whole place.
My vision of Caitlin was quickly blurred when she made an ice wall, separating herself from her enemy. By the time I had sped through the ice wall and managed to salvage what was left of the furniture in the place, I went outside to look for Caitlin, who had fled. The group of girls then ran of my side, attacking me with questions.
"Who was that Medusa man?" Cecile asked. I shrugged and shook my head at her failed attempt to name the meta.
"One of Caitlin's enemies, I guess..." I looked over at Felicity, who was typing into her phone. "Any other ideas?" I proposed to the rest of the group. "I tried calling Cisco, Barry, Ralph, and Joe, but none of them picked up..." I looked around at all the girls once more, all of them having puzzled looks on their faces.
"I thought she was cured," said Cecile. "Boy, her taste in clothes is matched only by her taste in men Both terrible." Cecile crossed her arms and sighed.
"I thought so too, but things like this don't go away that quick," I said, turning to Felicity.
"I remember being kidnapped by her last year...how do we know if we can trust her?" Cecile asked. I looked at her sternly. She had every right to not like Killer Frost for what she did. But it's not like Caitlin had any control over that part of her.
"You may not, but I do." Cecile uncrossed her arms. "Savitar was manipulating her, just like he was manipulating me and my emotions...If it weren't for her, he would still be in our lives right now".
"She's clearly too dangerous for us to handle." I shook my head again at Cecile's remark. She was in no position to make those judgements about Caitlin's character.
"She might be too dangerous in your eyes, but you don't see that she's still Caitlin underneath. I'm not going to give up on her now."
"Well if you're going to track her down, you'll need my help," Cecile said, pointing to herself. She made all these judgements about Caitlin, making it obvious that she didn't care like the rest of us.
"First off, you're pregnant, and Joe would kill me if anytihng happened to you or the baby. I'll bring you home," I said, picking her up swiftly. "I'll meet the rest of you girls at S.T.A.R Labs," I said, nodding and bringing Cecile home. Right from Joe's, I sped into the S.T.A.R Labs cortex.
"How's it coming along?" I asked, looking over Felicity's shoulder at her computer as I entered in the cortex. Her ponytail swung as she went back and forth between both monitors.
"I'm using the satellite to track her cold signature," Felicity said as her fingers were hard at work at the keyboard.
"And I tried calling the boys, but still no responses," said Iris, dropping her hand with her phone to her side.
"Who's idea was it to make two superheroes take a night off without their technoology?" I asked, looking around the room at the rest of the girls.
A chime rung through the cortex and my attention was directed to Felicity at the computer.
"I got something..." Felicity put the map up on the screen so we could all see the results, and I was confused at the location.
"The Golden Booty?" I asked, looking at any and all locations near it. "Why would Caitlin be there? That's a weird place to meet your henchman." The rest of the girls shrugged and I knew I had to go with it. "Ugh, I hope you're right," I said, looking down at Felicity. "There's nothing weirder than a female superhero walking into a gentleman's club," I said, suiting up. "You be my eyes and ears, alright?" I asked Felicity as I tested the comlink in my ear. Felicity nodded. She stretched back into her chair and cracked her knuckles, reaching into her bag and pulling out a headset. "You have that with you all the time at the ready?" I asked, looking down as she fitted the headset to her head. She smiled and looked up at me.
"I do this for a living, girl," she said, warming up her fingers at the computer. She then turned her chair to face the other girls. "Make yourself comfortable ladies, this is going to be an action packed ladies night". And with that, I knew she had my back and sped to the location.
When I arrived at the club, I sped around, looking for any entrance where I wouldn't be noticed. After debating whether to enter through the roof, or just to phase, I saw an entrance in the back that was unguarded. Knowing a place like this, I had a feeling the door was going to be locked, which it was. To solve that problem, I simply placed my hand on the knob and phased it off, being sure I put it back on when I entered, as if nothing happened at all.
I snuck around the back room, dodging employees and making my way down to the basement. As I got closer and closer to what I could assume was Caitlin, a conversation went from muffled to clear. When I could hear the conversation clearly, I could tell it was Caitlin and that Amunet girl, the stranger at Big Belly Burger was talking aboout.
"Did you start a fight?" I could hear Amunet ask. I then heard a loud thud, and a wince, giving me the idea that she slapped him. "Honestly, Norvock...That's why you're my third favorite henchman." I rolled my eyes at the stereotypial supervillain remark and continued listening to the conversation. "And that, my dear, is why you are my favorite."
"I'm out, Amunet," said Killer Frost. The room grew silent and then suddenly filled with Amunet's laughter. She stopped when she realised Caitlin was serious. "Out? Out of what? Out of options? Out of your mind? Out of the closet? There's just so many outs for the lady in blue..."
"Out of this...Out of your control," Killer Frost replied. Amunet was quick to respond.
"Oh Dear, you know I tell and I take...Now, before you make up your mind, I have something to show you that could make us both very rich." Footsteps filled the room as Amunet took a few steps and stopped. I then peeked quickly through the crack left in the door to see who I assummed was Ammunet and Norvak standing infront of a guy tied up against the back wall of the room. I noticed Killer Frost standing off to the side, watching Amunet as she examined the man infront of her.
"You got a pet...Congratulations," said Killer Frost, sarcastically, crossing her arms.
"I call him The Weeper," Amunet whispered. "Three weeks ago, this young man became a meta-human and I acquired my new favorite product to sell in my network." When she mentioned the date, I couldn't help but think about the timeline. It had been three weeks since Barry returned, which also meant three weeks since the bus full of metas was created. Based on those facts, I knew he had to be one of them. My thoughts were then redirected to Amunet, who stepped closer to the tied up man, his head staying low and focused on the floor.
"Did you notice?" she asked, stroking his cheek with her fingertip. "Love is literally in the air...And i'll show you why," she said before kneeing the Weeper in the chest. With a loud grunt, Amunet bent down and grabbed the Weeper's head forcefully, lifting it up and placing her finger in the corner of his eye. She pointed her finger at Caitlin and I took a step back, making sure that I could see what was going on, but Amunet couldn't see me. I was confused at first what Amunet was pointing at Caitlin for, but I later noticed her finger had a small blue drop on it,
"Pure," she said, examining the drop. She looked up at Killer Frost, who didn't seem tnat phased by it.
"His tears are a drug?".
"No, my dear, they're a gold mine. One taste, and this city will be hooked," Amunet had this excited look in her eyes, and I knew it was going to be nothing but hell for the Weeper. I felt that I had an obligation to save him, but I didn't know how.
"And i'm needed because?" Killer Frost asked, pointing to herself. Amunet took a step away from the Weeper and began circling her.
"I'm going to need protection when working with something this valuable." Amunet walked slow circles around Caitlin. She stopped infront of her face after circling her a few times and whispered. "You know how marketgoers can be". Killer Frost was quick to make a witty remark:
"Isn't that what snakeyes is for?" Caitlin asked, pointing to Norvak in the corner.
"A deal like this requires a lady's touch," Amunet said, stroking Killer Frost's arm. Caitlin's hands began to radiate frost, and I could tell that she was in a fighting mood.
"In your case, strength, and I'll cut you in for 10%." Caitlin took a step back, and Amunet only got closer. "15%, and I throw in not killing you right now for your misguided rebellion...And that is only because I've got forgiveness in my kidneys, right?". Amunet looked over at Norvak, who shrugged his shoulders at her comment.
"Don't you mean heart?" Killer Frost asked. Amunet shook her head.
"Heart?...No, there's no beat beat in this chest, sister." Killer Frost chuckled and put her hands in the air.
"As much fun it is to play 'I'm the bigger badass,' I'm bored. And like I said earlier, i'm done." Killer Frost turned her back to walk away from the discussion, and the little crack in the door closed forcefully.
"Do you know what everyone's mistake in business is?" Amunet asked. Killer Frost was silent. "Not realizing who has the power in the room." I began to hear the clinking of metal though the other side of the door, and the floor started to shake. Caitin was 2 on one right now in that room alone, and I wasn't going to let her face someone like Amunet alone. The metal door proved to be no match for me as I phased through the door with ease and joined Caitlin's side.
"Why don't you take your own advice?" I asked Amunet, who cocked her head to the side upon my entrance. "Ladies, ladies, let's put the meta-abilities down."
"Flashette...what a lovely surprise. I knew one of you was bound in here any second. It's a good thing the universe chose someone like you with these abilities...So much strength...so much potential..." she said, looking over at the Weeper. I stood my ground and prepared myself for anything. "Now, now...you can't come in here and expect me to go easy on someone who can't mind their own buisness".
"You harming my city is my buisness," I said, Caitlin tensing up and getting ready to fight. I didn't want this to turn into a fight if it didn't have to be, so I tried to calm things down. "You might want to stop before you destroy this place to the ground," I said, motioning to the levels above us. "All these people...And you'd be the ones responsible...Wouln't want to be in any more hot water...Now, let's go," I said, turning my back to Amunet and taking Killer Frost with me, getting no further comment from Amunet. Not only did I know that I would be back, but I knew that it was unlikely Amunet would just let us walk away without harm.
"Mission accomplished ladies, we're on our way home," I said before walking out of the club the same way I came. I paused outside the club to think about our next move, and Caitlin turned to me as we stood in the alley outside the club.
"You're lucky she didn't kill you, Allen". I looked over at Killer Frost, who's eyes turned to a lighter shade of blue.
"You think i'm afraid of Amunet? She's one of the many metas that i've faced in my lifetime that wanted me dead". She looked up at me, her face not as evilly contorted as usual. It was times like these that made me see that Caitlin was infact fighting her way out. I knew she didn't want to be this way, but it made me feel bad knowing that I contributed to her having this problem.
"She's not like the metas you've messed with before." After Killer Frost's last comment, I got a message from Felicity on the comlink, saying that she needed us there, and I answered her call for action.
When we arrived in the cortex, I pulled down my mask and looked up at the monitor, that was displayed with Amunet's information.
"Thanks to your suit camera, I was able to match the facial recognition of Amunet in the video to the CCPD database," Felicity said, looking up at me. "Say hello to Amunet Black."
"So we know she works in the underground market, as confirmed with ths information here," I said, looking over the files.
"She's been linked for selling stolen technology."
"And a soon to be love drug that could take control of the whole city," I said, thinking about the Weeper.
"No wonder why CCPD hasn't been able to nail her down," said Iris, looking at information on the other monitor.
"I found her when I couldn't contain Frost," said Caitlin, looking at all of us around the room. "She told me she had some technology that would help me stay in control, and I was desperate...It came with a price tag, and that was being her muscle. That's why I stayed away for all that time. I was using Frost on the side and I didn't want it to flare up". I looked at her and we shared a glance for a moment. I felt her pain, and I knew that it would only get worse the longer Amunet was hanging over her head.
"Now that we know her plan, what are we going to do about the Weeper guy?" Felicity asked. I looked at Killer Frost, who's saddened expression turned ice cold.
"Not my problem". I looked quickly at Killer Frost, who rubbed her hands together and began walking out of the cortex.
"Why are you walking away?" I asked. She turned slowly towards me, her eyes now that dark, devious blue. Her glance was sharp as a dagger, but I knew she wouldn't do anything to me...not now at least.
"It's my only way to escape Amunet and figure this out."
"You can't run away now!" I said, raising my voice. Killer Frost's glance remained the same, though I could tell the girls were getting where I was going.
"There's a reason why Amunet has never been caught." Her comment got me fired up, and I couldn't let her walk away. She attempted to walk further, but I sped infront of her.
"So your solution is to run away?" She continued to look at me with fury in her eyes and I ignored it, my feelings now matching the intense frustration in her eyes.
"She's too powerful and you won't be able to stop her."
"I have a responsibility to the Weeper and to the city, and i'm not going to let them down," I said, placing a hand on her arm. I then noticed how her eyes softened quickly. "Why are you afraid to embrace the good in you?" I asked. "It's clearly there. If it wasn't, you would have killed me, or even Cisco a few months ago...but you didn't. I know my best friend is still in there." She looked up at me, her distorted voice now getting deeper.
"Don't act like you know me," she said, attempting to push past me. Ignoring her attempts at getting rid of me, I stood my position.
"I may not know Killer Frost, but I know what Caitlin Snow looks like when she's scared...Infact, it's the exact look you have in your eyes right now." Killer Frost looked down at the ground for a second and blinked. Her diswtorted voice repeated:
"I'm never afraid...". I could see her temper rising.
"You're just as afraid of being Caitlin as Caitlin is of being Killer Frost," I said, looking into her eyes and she began to tense even more. I knew I was getting to her when her eyes began to soften for a split second, but returned to that stone cold blue. For a second, I knew I got to her, but it was only a matter of time before she went back to her darkness. I could then feel something sharp at the base of my stomach and looked down to see she had an ice spike leveled at my chest, slowly digging further and further into my body.
"I suggest you move before you lose your life," she threatened, the evil twinkle in her eye. Without further discussion, I took a step back and off to the side. She bowed her head and chuckled in her mysterious voice. "Good choice." The ice spike fell to the floor and shattered as she stepped over the remains of what I thought of as Caitlin Snow's innocence. I then looked up at the rest of the girls, who had looks of melencholy on their faces. Without further wallowing or sorrow, I knew we had a mission of saving the Weeper, and I wasn't going to let Killer Frost get in the way of that.
"Let's get back to work, ladies!" I said, motioning to the files and computers.
"Uhh...that's gonna have to wait," Felicity said, her mouse clicking rapidly along the screen. "Distress signal at the Golden Booty."
"Isn't this what we have cops for?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "Probably some bar fight with a rich guy...They always like to show off their firearms," I said, speeding to the club.
When I got there, glass was shattered all over the floor and I immedietely noticed the group of boys sitting at the bar counter, handcuffed.
"Joe?" I asked, looking over at the group, who turned toward me slowly.
"H-hheyy Sweetie..." Barry slurred, not bothering to turn around. "Be nice to see you on that stagee..." he then turned to me and I noticed his hot sauce covered face.
"What happened?" I asked, examining the scene of broken glass and damaged furniture. "The bar first," I said, taking another look around. "And then Barry."
"There was a little disagreement between me and some rich billionire," said Ralph. I shook my head.
"Why didn't I expect this from you?" I asked, looking over at him. "And I can assume this was your idea." Ralph nodded proudly. An officer then walked over to the group and I put my hand in the air.
"It's alright, officer, I can take it from here," I said, the officer nodding and walking off. I then used Joe's master key that he had in his pocket and unlocked the remainder of the boys' cuffs.
"Here I was thinking this was a legitimate call," I said, looking around at the scene. What I wasn't expecting to see was Caitlin leaning up against one of the poles on the stage.
"CAITLIN" I exclaimed, running up to her and noticing she was out cold.
"That's Caitlin?" said Ralph, looking up at Killer Frost. "I thought she was just a dancer that got really into character." I turned around sharply at Ralph and slung Caitlin's arm around my shoulder.
"Take Barry home and watch him," I said to Joe. "Make sure you all stay together, and don't come to S.T.A.R Labs," I said, speeding Caitlin to S.T.A.R. Labs and getting her situated in the medbay. By the time she woke up, her hair was back to its natural color, and her vitals had died down.
"What happened?" she asked, blinking rapidly and looking up at me. I looked up from the vital machine and smiled.
"Alot. How do you now remember?". She thought for a second and placed a finger to her chin.
"I don't remember much when she's in control," she said, drifting off in thought. Her head jerked suddenly toward me: "She didn't hurt anynone, did she?".
"Almost killed me, hurt a few, but everyone that came into her path is alive and kicking." Caitlin then sunk deeper into the medbay bed and sighed.
"Sorry you got in the crossfire of my mistake...I should have never gone to Amunet for that cure...It just makes it worse...". I looked down at my best friend, happiness in my heart. We still had a lot to fix, but I was just glad she was okay. "When Cisco said he was gonna get Barry back from the Speed Force, I thought that maybe I could come back and make up for some of the pain that I caused, but she's getting stronger...I should have known she'd return. I never should've come back," Caitlin began to sob.
"It's okay to feel guilty...I still feel guilty about the mistakes i've made...But i'm just glad you're here right now."
"Me too," she said, a small smile forming in the corner of her mouth. "But I know she'll be back soon," Caitlin said, wiping her eye and propping herself up on the bed with her elbows. "It's not too long before she returns."
"Just know that you can always come back to your friends," I said, patting the railing of the bed and meeting the rest of the girls in the cortex.
"Knowing these tears are like an Opiod, we need to think smart here. If we're gonna do this, we need to ensure we're gonna make it out alive." I thought of Amunet and any weaknesses she might have. Not coming up with any ideas, all of us were desperate.
"Too bad, you really could have used Caitlin's help," Killer Frost said as she emerged from the medbay. I walked towards her and she stopped me. "Better off letting me go this time," she said, holding up her hand. Without further comment, I Iet her go, saving the group from any potential damage she could cause us.
"Amunet is smart and off the grid, and is known for leaving no trail...How can we track someone who doesn't leave anything behind?" Iris asked.
"She doesn't leave anything behind, but her powers do," I said, having a lightbulb moment. "Her powers were some sort of nico-alloy control. Similar to how we tracked Caitlin, could we use the satellites to track Amunet's powers?" I asked. Felicity focused on the computer and typed rapidly. When her fingers settled, I knew she got something.
"I'm getting a reading at...an industrial warehouse in Lawrence Hills." I studied the location as Felicity displayed it on the overhead.
"That's all industrial out there...steel mills, docks, warehouses...An unfair advantage to whoever her buyers are if she decides to use her powers on them."
"Felicity will be my eyes and ears, and Iris will be my other solider on the ground, alright?" I asked. I went into the weapon's closet and handed Iris one of Harry's old blasters.
"Let's go girls," I said before Iris and I headed to the location.
Iris and I walked cautiouslly around the warehouse, being ready for all and any interactions. She held her gun in the air and I trailed behind her as we navigated through this maze of a warehouse. When we got to the outer edges of one of the sides, I could hear laughing and discussion. When I rounded the corner and settled in a spot behind some old steel beams, I could clearly see Amunet standing with the Weeper tied up behind her. She was demonstrating to the potential buyers infront of her what the Weeper could do. After watching the reaciton of the buyer when Amunet placed the drop in his mouth, I could see how powerful The Weeper could become. I then decided it was time to move into position.
"On my count, ready?" I asked as Iris looked back at me with a nod. "One...Two..." I said as I inched closer to where I would be visible. I then fell to the floor with a kick to the back of my knee, and was motionless by the sound of a button clicking behind me. It happened to be a power dampener.
"Three." I looked back to see two men towering over us, one taking me by the arm and lifting me forcefully off the ground. Another took Iris, deactivating her blaster and bringing us closer to Amunet.
"Look what we found," one of the men said as he brought us to Amunet. I struggled to break free, and Amunet laughed in my face.
"Did you really think i'd let you walk away that easily? I knew you'd be a constant thorn in my side, so I decided to take precautionary measures, knowing that you would be back."
"So now what? You keep us here, make your deal, and make the whole city bitten by the love bug?" I asked. Amunet shook her head and stepped away from us, examining the Weeper behind her.
"The thing about buisness, ladies...Is that there's always collateral damage. You two happened to be just that," Amunet said, turning around and motioning to her men behind us. "Take care of them," she said before then men gripped our arms and pushed us towards the exit, where Caitlin appeared, quickly blowing her freeze breath and taking the remainder of the guys down. Amunet looked around the room with a twinkle in her eye as I crushed the button with the dampener. I quickly felt the rush of the speedforce through my veins once again. I then helped Iris up and handed her a gun that had fallen out of one of Amunet's Henchmans' pockets. "You and your pesky friends destroying my plans...You really have a death wish." Killer Frost took a step foreward and shook her head. "Do you know why noone has testified against me before?" Amunet paused. "Because none of them were alive to do so," she said before Caitlin's hands began to radiate frost and we jogged behind her. "Well hello, Chilly," Amunet said, placing her hand infront of a barrel of metal. The metal became magnetised and stuck to her hand. She then pointed her hand at us, and the metal shot at us at full force. Before it could reach us, Caitlin created a 360 degree ice forcefield around us. I could hear Amunet's frustration on the other side of the shield. "KILL THEM!" she yelled, angrily. On her command, more men began firing guns at the shield. Cailtin took a step back from the edge and turned to me.
"I don't think it's gonna hold much longer...". I began to notice the cracked pieces of the shield as the gunfire became heavier.
"Well, this is a steel factory, and you move steel plates with--"
"Magnets..." Felicity said in my ear. I nodded and thought of a plan quickly.
"I'm happy you decided to chime in...This warehouse has really really big magnets. Think you can hack 'em?" I asked.
"Firing up the crane now," Felicity said as typing began to fill my ear. Caitlin then broke the ice shield and the rest of Amunet's men fell to the floor among the shrapnel of the ice shield. Amunet looked around and walked towards us angrily, holding out her hand.
"We could have been gods." Amunet stopped infront of us, taking turns looking between Caitlin, Iris, and I.
"I used to work with a god...Over it," Caitlin replied before Amunet held out her hand to strike, and I yelled for Felicity to activate the crane. Suddenly, all the metal on Amunet's hand was attracted to the magnet above us, and she looked up in disbelief. She tried attracting the metal back, but her attempts didn't work.
Iris and I kept our positions in the center of the room as Caitlin took a few steps foreward towards Amunet.
"Not so scary without your bling, are you, sister?" she asked, Amunet's face now filling with worry. Amunet stepped back again, now stuck with her back against the wall. Amunet's face filled with worry when an ice spike appeared from Caitlin's hand. Amunet covered her face.
"STOP!" I yelled, holding out my hand and approaching Caitlin. Killer Frost kept the spike close to Amunet and turned her head.
"Don't do this, Cait...Don't be a Killer...Don't live up to your name...". Caitlin looked back at Amunet.
"I'm not Caitlin...And I'll never be free unless she dies."
"No, it's the opposite," I replied. "You are free right now. But if you do this, you will always be a killer. Killer Frost, Caitlin...You don't have one or the other...You have a choice to decide who you want to become." Killer Frost brought the spike closer to Amunet, but eventually her hand fell to her side and she released the spike.
"Get out of here," Caitlin said, spatting in Amunet's face.
"You've ruined this for me today, and one day soon I promise you I will ruin something for you," Ammunet said as one of her remaining men ran away with her, leaving us and the Weeper.
Immedietely after her exit, I ran to the Weeper and unchained him.
"We're gonna help you, okay?" I asked, removing the remainder of the chains from his arms and legs. He pushed me aside and darted towards the door.
"Get away from me," he yelled as he dissappeared into the warehouse.
"The police are on their way, and we'll be good to go," Felicity said into my ear as we cheered and applauded for our hard work.
"Who run the world?" Felicity sang into the comlink.
"GIRLS!" we all replied. Iris and I laughed, and we high fived. I then walked over to Caitlin and placed my hand on her shoulder.
"We did it, Cait," I said, smiling. Her eyes were now soft, and that's when I knew Caitlin would be okay.
"I got the police call, is everything alright?" Joe asked as he, Ralph, Cisco, Oliver, and Barry walked into the cortex.
"Everything's fine, your girls saved the day," Felicity said, motioning to all of us.
"Though it wouldn't have been complete without the help of Killer Frost". Cisco settled into one of the chairs and fixed his shirt.
"Sorry we didn't help out, it would have been a little too difficult getting drunk Flash into his suit". Barry was beside Joe, having trouble keeping his balance.
"That's me....I'M THE FLASH!" Barry exclaimed, pumping his fists into the air. He stumbled backwards and Joe caught him. I smiled and turned to Cisco.
"Must have been some bachelor party, if you managed to get Barry tipsy". Barry's eyes began to close and he was on the brink of passing out.
"He'll be feeling that until the morning, sweetie. I'll be sure to lower the dosage for you next time," Cisco said with a wink.
"Good thing we didn't leave wild child unnatended." said Ralph. "Who knows where he would have ended up." My eyes widened at the words that managed to sneak past Ralph's lips.
"Did he get drunk too?" I asked Cisco, pointing my thumb at Ralph.
"That's the first thing i've heard him say that sounds remotely responsible". Ralph stuck his tongue out, and I stuck my tongue out back. I was brought back into the conversation when Barry stumbled into my arms.
"Give me some love," he said, puckering his lips and leaning in for a kiss. I pushed him away, and he bounced right back.
"Have fun getting him in bed tonight," Cisco said with a grin.
"So glad I get to put three kids to bed tonight," I said before saying goodbye to the team.
When I arrived at home, Sarah was there with Baby John, sitting on the couch.
"Kids are in bed," she said, standing up and slinging her bag over her shoulder.
"Hope you had fun," she said with a smile, and I smiled back. Barry walked towards her and held out his hand, shakingly.
"I'm the Flashhh....It'sss nice to--- to meet you," he went on, Sarah taking his hand and shaking it. Without another word, Barry collapsed on the couch and Sarah giggled.
"Take care," she said, walking towards the door and and closing it softly behind her.
"Morning sleepyhead..." I said as Barry blinked a few times. He furrowed his eyebrows and placed his hand to his head.
"My head is going to explode..." Barry groaned, wincing at the sun hitting his eyes through the curtains. I chuckled.
"That's what a hangover feels like, bud," I said, tracing circles on his arm. "Have fun at the Golden Booty last night?" I asked, Barry's eyes going wide.
"Ralph's idea, not mine," said Barry, defensively. I thought back to his behavior last night and questioned him about it.
"I heard you were hilarious, crying about how much you loved chicken wings! I'm surprised Cisco didn't record it."
"Hey, we watched cute videos of me before that. The night wasn't that bad," Barry said, rolling over on his back. I snuggled into his chest.
"So how did a happily married man, his adopted father, his coworker, his nerdy friend, and his best friend end up spending all night at a club?" Barry's voice raised:
"Ralph brought us there! You know he's a frequent when he is on name basis with all the workers...I don't remember much of the night anyway, but I do remember seeing Cecile's daughter dancing on the stage." I shot up from my position and my mouth gaped as I looked down at Barry.
"Our daughter would be grounded for life if I found out she was doing that". Barry rubbed my back and smiled up at me.
"She's gonna have her nose too buried in books like her mom to do anything stupid like that."
"I guess you're right," I said, bringing my face closer to his. I was about to kiss him, but pulled away at the last minute.
"But..." I said, Barry sighing. I found it funny to tease him like this sometimes. "If she's got a mouth like her drunken daddy," I said, poking Barry's chest.
"Hey!".
"I did hear you were yelling that you were the Scarlet Speedster all night..."
"Not my fault Cisco overcalculatd his truth serum."
"I just wish I could have seen it. Joe said you did some funny stuff. Being interested in any of the action there wasn't one of them."
"While Joe ranted on and on about me, did he bother to mention him? Did he talk about our heart to heart chat about him being afraid of fatherhood again?" I positioned myself on Barry and rested my head in the crook of his neck.
"He's almost 50, Bar...He has every reason to be nervous. He raised Iris, you, me, and Wally all alone. At least now he has Cecile to help him out," I said, tracing Barry's bicep with my fingers.
"That is a good point," he replied.
"How about a glass of water and an aspirin?" I asked, sitting up. Barry pulled me closer to him and whispered.
"This is one of the few mornings where the kids are sleeping past 8...The kids aren't the only ones who deserve mommy and me time."
