Victoria's POV

Me, Elijah, and Ethan were having a great time laughing and joking around when I suddenly turned to see Denis was swerving into the opposite lane just as a car was heading for us, "WATCH OUT!" I shrieked, getting hold of the wheel and jerking it to the right back to our lane.

Denis slammed on his breaks as I gripped his shoulder with my left hand and pressed my right hand on the window, hearing a loud screech sound from the tires.

The car came to a sudden stop, causing all of us to lurch forwards and shout at Denis hysterically.

We all froze for the longest time as the only sounds we heard were the honking horns of angry cars and our hard breaths.

"What. Just. Happened." Denis breathed, looking strait forwards.

" you were driving into the opposite lane dude! " Ethan almost shouted.

"What were you thinking! We're you trying to KILL us!" Elijah shouted.

"Are you okay? " I asked gently.

He obviously wasn't.

He shook his head, "I don't know. My vision went blurry a little but I didn't think it was THAT blurry"

Both twins popped their heads to the front, Elijah holding up there fingers and Ethan yelling, "how many fingers is he holding up?"

I rolled my eyes at them, "come on Denis, I'LL drive" I opened my door and looked out for traffic before meeting Denis at the drivers seat.

He let me through as I got in, my eyes watching as her circled around the car to the passengers seat.

I looked at him concerned.

"I'm fine, I promise" he put his hands up in surrender as I started to drive.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the house and got off.

"Not what I was planning when I said I wanted to go out" Elijah said as we walked into the house. Denis locked the door behind him and we walked into the kitchen.

"Maybe he's just a little hungry" Ethan offered with a shrug.

"I make a mean sandwich!" Elijah ran to the pantry as Denis sat at the table shaking his head with a smile.

I was about to sit with him when I felt someone grabs my arm and pull me into the living room,

"Can I talk to you Victoria?" Ethan asked in a whisper.

"How do you know my real name?" I asked defensively.

"Denis told me" he shrugged. I nodded at him skeptically.

"Well, Elijah really likes you... Don't worry, I'm not ratting out my brother or anything. But he did want me to talk to you"

I looked around as if someone would hear, "I guess I kinda knew by all the signs he was throwing at me"

"I told him you liked Denis though and that he really didn't have a chance" he smirked and laughed to himself, "don't worry, he knows"

I shook my head with a smile, "you just told him how it is, wow"

He shrugged, "I really hope things work out for you and Denis while it last" he said before giving me a warm smile and walking away.

I stood in confusion as I thought about his words,

While is lasts?

What was that supposed to mean?

I shrugged it off and joined them in the kitchen. Denis was laughing and Elijah was talking while making wild hand gestures.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked nosily while I sat across from Denis.

"Our reactions to my reckless driving" I raised my eyebrows in understanding.

"Hey Elijah, we should get going and leave these two love birds to do their thing" Ethan said, making Elijah laugh.

"Hey, we don't need your wild assumptions" Denis pointed a warning finger at him.

"Please, we all know you two have a blast all alone" Elijah jumped in.

Denis got up half dramatically and walked to the twins, causing them to the door.

I could hear them fake screaming while Denis laughed evily.

I joined them at the door as we said our good byes, "I had such a great time meeting you two! I hope I could see you guys again soon!" I said in complete genuine.

We closed the door behind them and looked at each other, "we should get your stuff" Denis said.

"What?"

" Yeah, we should get back to our dorm. Class starts in five days"

My stomach sank. I never wanted to leave this place. I felt at home here.

But he was right.

I nodded and walked upstairs to collect my few duffle bags.

"Wow, I'm leaving this place so suddenly" I laughed dryly.

"I could always visit right?" I asked curiously.

He looked at me sadly as if he had some secret while we walked out the house and to the car.

"I should drive" I told him. He nodded, "sure"

I got in the drivers seat as he got in the passengers and started up the car.

I took a very long last look at one of the places I now called home before putting the car in reverse and driving away.
