(I bet you think the song is random but it fits with the situation of Victoria needing Denis to lead her over the bridge  ;))

Victoria's POV

"Just don't look down" Denis said simply as if he were telling me to just hurry up and rip off the band-aid.

My legs suddenly started to shake violently. I looked over the edge again and took a big gulp.

I started sweating bullets, yet I was shivering cold.

"Uh Denis, I REALLY don't think I can do this" I tried to say, but it turned out in a whisper.

Denis squeezed my hand and looked at me with determination, "You got this, I believe in you" he gave me a huge smile.

I bit down on my lip to keep calm and nodded silently.

I saw Denis gently take a step on the rickety bridge, causing it to creak.

My breathing accelerated as I took my first step on the worn out bridge.

Denis took a few steps further into the bridge to give me space, still hand in hand.

I kept my eyes strictly on his face to keep myself from looking down. His eyes had anxiety, fear, and excitement together in one.

I barley took two steps before the bridge started to moan. I let out a little whimper as the bridge seemed to sway under our weight.

The wind was blowing vigorously, causing my braid to jump around in my face, "I cant see!" I panicked.

I threw my braid behind me in frustration, "Your fine! It's okay! Dont start panicking or.. something bad will happen" Denis hesitated at the last moment, watching what he says.

I widened my eyes at him in fear.

He slowly continued walking cautiously ahead. I suddenly had this strange urge to see what was below me .

I slowly peeked over the left side of the rails, seeing water and trees way far below.

I suddenly had a dizzy spell cross over me. My knees started to wobble and the bridge was tilting to one side.

"Denis" I whispered. He turned his body to face me  "Are you okay?" he asked, putting both hands on my shoulders. I shook my head no.

"Come on, you can do this, were almost there" he urged.

I took a deep breath as we carried on.

I suddenly thought of all my friends and family who were going to miss me once they found out I was dead.

It's crazy how the last words you recently say to your loved ones can be the last words you tell them.

For my friends it was, "I have to go" and my mom, "call you in a few" and even Denis, "Denis".

Wow if I died right now, my last word would be Denis.

"Victoria, look"

I looked over to see what was wrong. There was an entire plank of the bridge missing.

I stood motionless in fear.

"It's okay, we could go over it." he laughed nervously.

"Oh no, I cant do this! I WILL fall, Denis"  I backed away from the gap.

"Were half way to through the bridge, you cant back down now." he said with a little wine in his voice.

I could tell by the look on his face that he wanted this to be over just as badly as I did.

"Okay" I tried to say with no words coming out.

"Jump on three" he said, getting ready to jump.

"1...2...3!"

Denis did a clumsy leap over the space in the bridge, but I didnt move at all.

It was like my feet were glued to the floor.

I forgot my hand was in his so when he jumped and I didnt, I lunged forwards while Denis toppled backwards, "Oh, GEEZE!" He cried, stumbling backwards but keeping his footing.

Denis manged to keep his balance, but when I lost balance, I actually fell on my knees.

I let out a horrified gasp as I fell, landing on my hands and knees.

I barely didnt fall through the gap, but I was looking directly at, seeing the water crashing against the rocks and the trees that were so tiny.

"DENIS!!" I shrieked as loud as I could hearing an echo.

"Calm down, please!" he begged. I heard panic start in his voice, because of me.

"Just get up, you'll be okay, I promise" he said desperately.

One second he's holding my hand and the next, he isnt even by my side anymore.

"No, No! I need you here with me! I cant do this on my own!...Im scared Denis" I whimpered.

Their was a long pause. I tried to lift my head to see where he was.

"Oh god" I whispered.

"Im coming, dont worry" he said.

"No, my braid, it's STUCK!" I started to hyperventilate.

The bridge started to creak.

It was going to snap, and I was stuck to it.
