Victoria's POV

"You have a house?" I was beyond shocked.

"Yep" He said excitedly.

"If you have house, why dont you live in it instead of living at those dorms?" I sounded a little angry.

"I thought you still lived with your parents" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Please, who still lives with their parents?" he laughed.

"Uh, ME" I reminded him.

Denis' face changed from humor to resentful, "Uh, only cool guys live with still their parents" he held back a laugh.

"So you have a house, yet you live on campus?" I observed, looking at him for answers.

"Well, I do live an hour away" he offered.

I crossed my arms, "Better then living in a cramped dorm"

"I tried living at my house sophomore year, but that didnt work out. I kept sleeping in and missing my classes." He raised his eyebrows at me and smiled with victory.

"Why did you move out?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the road.

"My mom thought it would be best if I were off on my own for once" I shrugged.

After a long moment of silence, I decided to play the radio. "Treat you better" by Shawn Mendez .

Denis looked at the radio and quickly changed the station, "Why did you do that?" I asked confused.

"Im not a big fan of Shawn Mendez" he frowned at me.

"Your unbelievable" I told him, sitting back in my seat.

I looked out the window seeing cars rush past us like streaks of light.

We drove up to a concrete bridge with a group of construction workers placing cones along the entrance.

We looked at each other, confused. Denis drove up closer to one of the workers and rolled his window down.

"Sorry sir but this road is currently under construction" is all he said before walking away.

Denis slowly turned his head to look at me, his eyes narrowed, "Well thats just great!" he said, throwing his hands in the air.

"Do you think we should just head back?" I asked.

He looked at me, his face lighting up, "No, I have an idea" he reversed the car and drove into a park off to the side.

"What are doing?" I asked as he got out of the car and looked at through the open window.

"Bring your duffel bag" he said.

I grabbed my bag then got out. Denis walked to me and smiled, "Okay, lets go" he said, then turned towards some trees.

I followed after him mindlessly, "You never clarified where were going you know?"

"Hang in their" He said, continuing on.

After a few minutes of what felt like endless walking, we finally reached a narrow wooden bridge.

"Uh, why are we here?" I asked stupidly.

"Were gonna cross" he smiled and looked at me

"Uh, no were not. Im terrified of heights!" I looked at the bridge. It was swaying back and forth in response to the blowing wind.

"It's not that bad, I promise" he reassured me.

He walked to the first step of the bridge and looked over the edge.

I walked to his side when I saw he wasn't saying anything horrible about what lied below.

"This is so cool!" he said looking down with a huge smile.

I got bye his side and slowly peeked over the edge.

Below was a large body of water, almost a very massive river.

The ripples acted as waves crashing against the jutting rocks below.

You could see tiny trees along the current, the bright green leaves standing out with the pure blue water.

It was beautiful, magical, a dream.

It was terrifying.

"No way am I crossing this bridge Denis" I stepped back.

Denis turned and looked at me as if noticing me for the first time.

"What? So your telling me I drove an hour for no reason?" He asked dissapointed.

I looked into his eyes and saw how much he wanted this.

I sighed, "No, you didnt".

His face lit up, "Nice!"

He turned to cross when I stopped him in his tracks, "Denis"

he turned and looked at me, "Yeah?"

"If I die, ill kill you"

He walked to me and took my hand in his.

"Deal"
